-Chloe-
"That baggage looks a little bulky, dear" the stewardess points to my bag.
"It's under 20 kg. I just didn't have enough time to pack everything neatly..."
She takes my bag anyway and puts it onto the weighing scale.
"20.8 actually." she smirks and I hear Alex snigger behind me. I turn on my heel and throw him a scolding glare.
"Not funny"
"Oh relax, relax" the lady chuckles.
I shake my head in disbelief and take my baggage from the scale.
"Thank you." I manage a weak, fake smile and grab Rosie's hand once more. We make our way to the exit and stop at the side to wait for Alex. He comes up after a minute, his gaze fixed on mine.
Heaven help me, I can't survive these stares no more.
I feel a warm touch on my free hand.
Uh-uh- not free anymore. He pulls me slightly and the three of us, still holding hands, head over to the plane.
It's massive engines on, wings wide, and a not-so- welcoming beak pointing towards us, stands the plane.
Wonderful.
No, splendid.
Actually, fabulous.
I hope you feel that sarcasm.
The north-east wind blows strongly, ruffling my hair. I thank the inventor of hair brushes. If not this wonderful "tool" I'd be forced to live my life with damaged, knotted hair.
Honestly, the steps you go up on the plane are terrifying just on their own. There's gaps between each one step and they don't feel that stable. With my misfortune, the plane is bound to go soaring up in the air before we go onto it, leaving us hanging onto the railings. My imagination is big, but some of it may soon be reality. Lets hope it won't be. Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but still, you never know.
We hand in our passports, the woman checks if it's the real passengers, before handing them back and nodding her head towards the seats.
Our seats are numbers 107, 108 and 109. Can't believe he got seats next to each other in the last minute. This guy must have some powers or something. An hour until the flight you can hope for the best, and count on getting seats in the toilets...Just saying. I guess my luck popped in to say hi today.
Mhm, and it's about to leave.
We take our seats and 2 minutes later, it begins. I sit beside the window. Oh, great. I totally need to admire the view while being scared for my life.
In a matter of seconds the aeroplane tilts upwards, lifting it's weight in the air. I tighten my grip on the armrest. A burning sensation fills my chest, my stomach contracts and tears build up in the corners of my eyes.
"Chloe?"
Oh no.
"Yeah...?" I mumble out.
"What's wrong?" I feel his gaze burn into me. " Are you scared of flying? Is this why you didn't want to go?" he asks concerned.
"Mhm" I try reply again.
Before I know it, he takes me hand of the armrest and holds it tightly.
"It'll be fine." he assures me, "Think of this flight as the next step to overcoming anxiety and-"
" How do you know about that?" I try and take my mind of my current state.
"Rosie told me a few days ago..."
"Oh"
He sends me a wide smile and I feel myself sending him one back.
Oo, aeroplane bonding time?
