Dan's POV

I let out a huff when my phone immediately vibrated due to Tyler messaging me on WhatsApp. He won't leave it alone. Knowing him, he'd probably start #dananswertyler on Twitter and make it trend within a day. I couldn't help but laugh at the image. I swore to myself that he was the first to response after Audrey was gone. Realizing I had probably spend a strangely long time in the kitchen, I brought Audrey and Phil quickly their coffee.

Phil turned his head quickly in my direction to thank me for the favour, but never stopped talking. „I can't believe you really studied psychology in Ireland! I'm so glad you followed your dreams-" I placed the plates of cake on our coffee-table and turned with my steaming tea, ready to spend sometime on tumblr, browsing and responding to some fan messages, when Phil unexpectedly got hold of my arm and pulled me soft, but determined, next to him on the couch. „Yes, I've written some major papers about the treatment of depression and trauma in the adolescence-" She hesitated a moment, took a sip of coffee and laughed a little at herself. „Can you believe that this is me,Phil? That this is the tomboy from eleven years ago sitting on your couch talking about academic success? Man, I would have laughed about myself" While she talked, I shifted a little uncomfortable next toPhil, feeling that I interrupted a private conversation. I took a gulp of tea to overplay my nerviness. „Probably" Phil agreed.„But you would have admired yourself secretly, but play it cool infront of others" Audrey smiled into her cup. „You still know me quite well" „It's hard to forget when there's so much to remember"

I felt more and more sneaky. And I love being sneaky, but only when noone watches me. But Audrey's brown eyes flew quickly to me from time to time. I had the strange feeling she was looking right through me. Phil must have sensed my comfortableness, because he reached out for my hand and held it simply, locking our fingers in a firm grip. His thump massaged my hand softly. I was ridiculously happy in that moment because a) we could finally show affection in the presence of another person now that Phil came to terms with us, and b) it was in front of his teenage crush, which signaled me I had nothing to worry about. He didn't want her any more. He wanted me. They continued to share some memories and laughed about them. The more they talked, the more Audrey seemed to loosen up. At the beginning of her visit I couldn't quite comprehend why teenage Phil could fall for a person like that. But now, as I watched her talk about their days in Manchester and giggling with a slight whistle through the teeth gap; as I watched her tying her hair in a messy bun when she talked about the reduction of teenage depression; I understood. I saw what must have fascinated him, which of her traits made her so endearing for him.

Phil was already at his second piece of cake and was sure to be hyper this evening. He stopped his conversation for a second to exclaiming „That cake is SO good, thank you" He gave me a chocolately smile. "You didn't eat anything, Dan, you should have some" With that he shoved a forkfull in my mouth. "I see you still see it as your purpose to shove food into the mouths of your clueless fellow humans- Oh my, do youstill remember the day in Brighton? At the beach?" Phil's eyes lit up to the extent that the blue of his iris looked like the ocean on a sunny day. "You mean the day I ditched a maths exam to go to thepier with you?" She nodded enthusiastically. "It was one of hergenius plans to enjoy life while we're living it, so she rebelled against the school system, picked me up with her old convertible and we drove all the way to Brighton to the beach" Phil explained tome. "Hold on, look what I found" Audrey started fishing something out of her bag.

While she was distracted, Phil lean close to my ear and whispered gently, "Are you bored? If so you can leave, I just wanted you around for a bit. Something's missing when you're not next to me" My heart started to flutter when Phil looked at me like that. I smiled at him- how could one not?- and shook my head. „No,it's fine. I love to hear some stories about dorky teenage Phil" He gave me a gentle push and a cute pout. „I wasn't a dork"
