Chapter 20
Iden's POV.

I pushed open the doors to the cafeteria,looking around to get familiar with my surroundings.A hand did a small,half wave,purple and black nails glinting against the light.

It was Max.

"Sup,"she greeted flashing a peace sign.

I nodded and sat down with her.

"Where's your lunch?"

I smacked the table,"Crap,I forgot it."

"Here,"she dug into her pocket and brought out 10 dollars,"It should be enough for something."

"Oh,no,I'm fine,"I shook it away,"but thank you."

"Nah,take it.I insist,"she put it in my hand.

"No,reall-"

"Take.It,"she pushed.

I sighed.I knew either way she was making me keep it,"Ok.Thank you."

I got up and got in the lunch line.

Today was hamburgers and green beans.Ok,not bad.....

I sat back down next to Max and sunk my teeth into a juicy burger,mayonnaise getting the sides of my mouth.

Max smiled,"Looks like someone was hungry."

"Yeash!Bery Vuch,"I said through a mouthful.

"Don't talk with your mouth open,"she scolded like a mother.

"Ok,Mom,"I said sarcastically.Instanty my face straightened,my heart started to ache.

Max went straight faced too and gulped.

There was a moment of silence between us,everyone around us caring on with business and not noticing the 2 girls about to break down in the cafeteria.

"You lost someone too,"Max whispered.

I nodded,not breaking contact.

"W...when,"she choked back a few tears.

"Only 2 months ago,"I said,letting a small tear fall.

"Oh,"she went silent,"I lost my mom last year,"she looked down.

"Sorry for your loss,"I put a comforting hand on her shoulder,"but hey,we got each other,"I smiled.

"Yea,"she straightened and wiped her tears off her cheeks,"Maybe I could come over after school?We could get to know each other."

"Oh,"I hunched over,"I...I don't know...I'll ask."

"Ok,"she smiled and got her phone out of her pocket,"Here."

"Oh,I got my own,"I pulled it out and hid it with my hands.

I went to Sam's contact and called him.Looking around for teachers,I put the phone to my ear.

"Hey,Iden,"he said,I could hear his car on the road.

"Hey,S-Dad,"I could tell Sam was about to say something when I went on,"Is it cool if a girl comes over...for bonding?"

"Ummm....Sure,"he said,"Have a nice day,Iden."

"I will,you too!"I hung up.I got a text a few minutes later.It was Sam.

Check her.There's a devils trap on your ceiling.Real silver is in the kitchen,make her hold it,if anything happens you go find the silver bullets in your dad's room and load his gun.Shoot.'Accidentally' hit her leg with iron.Salt the place.Sorry you have to do all this when new people come into the bunker,but it's a safety perseager.Be good,and tell Peter I said have a good day.

I nodded to myself and turned off my phone,"You're coming."

She smiled,"O-"

The bell rang and everyone rushed out.

"Thanks for the food,"I said and walked out of the cafeteria to my class.
