This chapter takes place within the week time skip I had after Iden was rescued from the Djinn.

Chapter 33
Iden's POV.

I threw the wrapper to my chicken sandwich away.

"Crap,"I muttered as it missed the trash can and I was forced to stop being lazy and get up and get it.

"Score!"Peter shouted, scaring the living crap out of me.

"What?"I asked.

"I made it,"he said pointing to the trash can.

"Oh,cool,"I said, picking up my wrapper and throwing it in the trash.

I walked out of the kitchen swiftly, which I was proud of because I was known for being quite clumsy.

I turned a corner and saw Zombie's door open.Well, the room she was staying in as Zombie called it.Her blonde haired covered her face and I couldn't read her expression.

In her hand I saw a small picture, probably taken by an old Polaroid.

"Hey,"I said, knocking on the door frame.

"Oh,hi,"Zombie said surprised. She shoved the picture behind her and wiped her face with the back of her hand.

"How are you doing?"I asked, guessing the reason she wiped her face was tears.

"Good,"she flashed a fake smile I knew all too well. She had done it a lot through out the time we were in the Djinn's little trap and after we were rescued. It's been two days since the terrible accident.

"Oh,yes,of course you're good. That's exactly why you faked a smile,"I said, pretending to check out my dirty nails.

She sighed,"I'm not feeling the best today,"she continued quickly after I gave her a concerned look,"but that's normal.Promise."

"Zombie,"I sighed,"I worry about you.You had to deal with your father, lead those kids in the woods, get captured by Crowley and Demon Dean,"I took a deep breathe then continued,"You were captured by the Djinn not very long afterward, and now you're crying.Tell me what's wrong."

She shook her head,"It's fine.Just remembering the day I thought I lost my dad for good when I was eight."

"Who's in the picture?"I asked.

Her eyes widened, but went back to normal size quickly,"What picture?"

"I'm not stupid. The picture behind you."

"Oh,"she said quietly, embarrassed that she was caught,"This,"she pulled out the photo and hesitantly let me hold it.

I looked at the girl in the photo. She had close to the same eyes as Zombie, but lighter.Zombie's were a darker hazel as this girl's was a light hazel. She had golden brown hair, where Zombie has a dirty blonde.

"She had my mother's looks,"Zombie said,"I had my father's."

I nodded,"Who is she?"

"My sister. She was just fifteen months younger than me."

"What happened to her?"I asked.

"She ran away after Dad started going crazy. She dropped off the radar,"then Zombie's voice emptied of the loving thoughts of her sister and filled up with anger,"She left me alone there. To die there. She promised she'd come back, but she never did."

Zombie let a tear slip down her cheek. She was breaking in front of me.This wasn't the Zombie I saw in the woods a few months ago. This was a Zombie that missed her sister and was crumbling quickly.

I hugged Zombie,"It'll be okay,"I whispered.

"It'll be okay."
