Liam POV ~1 Week Later~ -June 7th-
In all honesty I was beginning to worry about myself, after a total of seven days you'd really think the girl -Cassie- would be out of my mind, like she was out of my life, but that just wasnt the case. I walked, my head down, a hat over my buzz cut, and sunglasses covering my eyes, trying to keep fans from noticing their idol walking by them. I really couldn't deal with them right now, no matter how horrible that sounds. I am so grateful for the fans, really i am, but i was just too caught up in something i couldnt have. The boys were worried, i hadnt told them about the girl, Im not sure why but it just didnt feel right. I yawned, covering my mouth as i stared at the sidewalk on the busy London streets. I need coffee. I smiled a little as i saw the Starbucks sign, which was my destination in the first place. I pushed the door open, glancing up at my surroundings, taking in the strong scent of coffee. I began to walk to the counter, but knocked into a girl i hadnt seen. She was extremely short, being the reason i hadnt seen her. "Damnit!" She hissed, looking down at the drink in her hands, before muttering a thank god that the beverage hasnt spilled. I felt my veins go cold, as she glanced, okay glared, up at me, the green eyes shining. A look of recognition crossed her features, and she barked out a laugh, no humor in it, "Really?" She stated with distain, and i felt my heart drop to my feet as she pushed past me. I shook my head, quickly recovering, the caffeined beverage long forgotten. I shuffled out, looking around until i spotted her, walking the opposite way that i came from. She looked different, more confident, but i guess being drownded by water drains your confidence. I jogged as fast as posible, mumbling apologies to the people i passed, as i bounded to her side, "Can i help you?" She sighed, not even glancing at me, as i panted from the running, "How are you?" I asked, trying to catch my breath. She smirked, her pink lips being pulled up at one side, "Well, better than you right now." I chuckled, and she finally looked at me, "And did you really run all that way to ask how i was?" I stopped, and she did to, looking at me expectantly, "Well, actually, yeah." She laughed, her eyes squinting at the sides, and it warmed my heart, "How's your dog?" I pondered, trying to hear the sound again, or get some reaction from her. She turned her head to me, a true smiled spread across her lips, revealing a small dimple on her right cheek, "She's great, trouble, but great." "Good," I mumbled, staring at her as we walked in silence. I felt the need to say something and so i did, but immediately regretted it, "Wanna hang out today?" She laughed, but not the good kind the unemotional one, 'Smooth, Liam, realy smooth.' I scolded myself, "You want to hang out with me?" She quipped, her voice cold. I rubbed the back of my neck, "Well, yeah. I mean, why not? I'm kind of lonely to be honest." She shrugged, "Alright." "Alright?" She looked at me, slightly annoyed, "Don't make me say it again." I raised my eyebrow at her, amused and overjoyed. "Um. Okay then..my place?" "Sure." But she kept walking, not turning around, "Uh, My house is this way." "I know." "Then where are you going?" "Nellie." "Huh?" "We're going to pick up Nellie, my dog. We're a package deal.Take it or leave it." She said bluntly, taking a sip of the hot beverage in her hand, "Okay then," I smiled, i didn't think about her all week for nothing, afterall.
"So... You like Starbucks?" I asked, just trying to make conversation, and the corner of her lips lifted, "Not at all." I furrowed my eyebrows, "Then why..?" I motioned to her drink, "Personally i think they suck, but i wanted hot chocolate and that was the only place i could find, I mean really, a nice cup of a chocolatey beverage, is that to much to ask, Liam, is it?!" She exclaimed talking with her hands, and i jumped back away, laughing at her. "I don't think so, but i know if you don't stop doing that that chocolatey beverage is going to scald us both." She smiled a little, a blush on her already rosie cheeks, "Sorry.." I chuckled, and she simply shrugged, taking another sip of the hot chocolate, and she made a little face at it, "Stupid Starbucks." She mumbled, and my smile grew. This one was something else.
"Bug!" She exclaimed, throwing open the door, motioning me inside. I heard swift steps from a dog, as its nails hit the hardwood floor, and within seconds a long tan brown animal was at Cassie's feet, jumping in excitement on her legs wanting to be picked up. Cassie obliged, wrapping the animal in her arms as it licked her face in greeting, it's tail wagging excessively, "How long have you been gone?" I asked curiously, and she turned to me the smile on her face not fading, "About thirty minutes." I laughed, hm, this little dog sure is attatched. Cassie set her down, "Let me grab a few things and we can get going," Cassie told me, turning to walk up the stairs. I felt something on my leg, and i looked down to see big brown eyes looking up at me. I smiled at the dog, leaning down to pet it. She licked my hand, her tail wagging a little, "Hi there," I cooed, and her tail started to go 5 miles per hour as i petted her fur. I heard soft footsteps as Cassie cascaded down the stairs, a bag around her shoulder and a leash in her hand, she smiled somewhat genuinely at me and the dog, before leaning down and hooking the leash around the dog's -Nellie, is it?- collar. She kissed the top of it's smooth head, and a smile graced her lips, "Ready?" She asked, and i nodded, "Want me to carry that?" I asked, she really seemed to be having trouble with it, she bit her lip debating, before nodding slowly and handing it to me. It really wasnt that heavy, but she wasnt as strong as I am i guess. I opened the door for her, and she muttered a soft thanks as Nellie followed beside her obediently. We walked down her drive and down the sidewalk heading towards my home, Nellie leading the way.
