Liam POV

She skipped ahead, the dress bouncing around her as she aproached the lilac tent set up with tables and food, where Niall was sat his plate piled with food, and a large man standing over him as he ate. We approached the two, and I smiled at the man, "Paul, you do know you're off duty right?" I asked, as Cassie headed over to the table of food, and I watched her from my periphial vision. Paul chuckled, "Just because I'm not on the job doesnt mean you boys dont need a babysitter." I shrugged and smiled slyly as Cassie bounced back to my side, her plate filled with fruit as she took a seat in front of Niall. He raised his eyebrow at her, "You on a diet or something?" He asked, his nose scrunched up in distaste even at the thought of dieting and Cassie laughed with a shake of her head, "Nah, Ni. I wouldnt go on a diet if i was paid. I just like fruit." She grinned, popping a grape into her mouth while following me with her eyes, "Don't just stand there," She scoffed, rolling her eyes and pulling out the chair next to her.  Paul was looking at the young girl in curiousity, and she smiled up at him sweetly, seemingly innocent, "Hi, I'm Cassie, Liam's friend." Paul's face eased into a calm smile, "I'm Paul, the babysitter." She giggled, eating a strawberry that tainted her lips red as I took a seat beside her. "Having fun Niall?" I asked and he looked up at me, his mouth full of food, his cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk. He nodded vigorously, swallowing the huge amount of food, "The foods great!" He exclaimed, his blue eyes lit up, and i laughed , "Are you going to do anything besides eat?' Cassie grinned, and he shook his head. Shge giggled and shook her head at him, "Well, we'll see you later okay?" She asked, standing from her spot and popping her last grape into her mouth, Niall nodded and I gave him a wave before following after the girl. She threw away her plate and began to look around, "Where do you think Harry went off to? And Louis?" She asked, biting her lip a little in concentration, "I have an idea," I smiled, spotting the head of curly hair at a table at the far end of the yard. i grabbed her hand, pulling her toward the table where Harry sat, Lux in his lap, Lou, Tom, and Josh standing around, and on the other side Louis sat with Eleanor. Cassie grinned, running ahead of me, sliding in front of the table with a large smile. "Hey," She greeted breathlessly, and I jogged to catch up. "Josh, Lou, Tom, Lux, this is Cassie.' I introduced her, and she gave a small wave, smiling down at the little girl in Harry's lap, bending down to talk to her, "Hi there," She cooed to Lux and Lux smiled a toothy grin, waving her small chubby hand at her. Cassie kissed her forehead affectionately, before standing back up right. Eleanor looked at her accusingly, "Where are your shoes?" cassie smiled innocently, giving El the puppy dog eyes, while she rocked on her heels. It was quite adorable i have to admit, "Well..." She trailed off, "You see, I've never broken a bone before in my 16 years of living, and I decided I didnt want to start now.." Eleanor laughed, shaking her head and motioned for Cassie to sit. Before she could do it herself, I pulled out the seat for her, and a blush crossed her cheeks. She muttered a soft thank you, before turning to Eleanor and Louis, chatting away. I cleared my throat, noticing how dry it was. "Hey, Cass, Im going to get a drink, I'll be right back okay?" I asked, placing my hand on her shoulder, not missing how my skin tingled from the warmth. She smiled up at me, her white teeth showing and nodded. I smiled and kissed her nose out of instinct. I blushed, not bothering to look at her shocked expression before rushing away towards the table that held punch. I ran my hand through my short hair, groaning in dissapointment at myself. "What was that, Payne?" I muttered to myself irritably, "Why dont you go ahead and ruin your friendship?" I growled as I poured the red liquid into a clear cup. I sipped at it, glaring at my feet as the liquid soothed my burning throat. That was irrevocably stupid.  I glanced to the table, where Cassie sat, Lux in her lap as she talked and played with the toddler. I smiled grimly at the sight, still angry for doing anything that could make us awkward. I dont know what came over me, then or when we were dancing, but it didnt really matter what it was, it just couldnt happen again. I felt someone tap my shoulder, and i swallowed my drink, expecting to turn and see the short girl asking me why I wasnt back yet, and make a joke about how slow i was, but instead a familiar tall woman stood in front of me, her curly brown hair falling down her shoulder, a extremely tight gray tube dress hugging to her body and stopping just a few inches down her thighs. I couldnt help but purse my lips a little, thinking of how her dress contrasted so much with Cassie's much more modest one, but quickly shook it from my mind. I wasnt supposed to be thinking about her, or how her breath felt fanning over my face, or the heat i get with every touch, and this woman was the best way to get away from that. I let a somewhat fake smile cross my cheeks, sitting my punch back on the table, before turning to her once again, "Danielle, how are you?" I asked my exgirlfriend, who i hadnt seen in 5 months since we broke up. She grinned at me flawlessly, and I had forgotten just how beautiful she was. "I'm good, havent heard from you Liam. How are you doing?" She asked sweetly, brushing her hair from her shoulder. "I'm doing good, preparing for the upcoming tour. Just hanging with the boys, and a few friends." I told her, my eyes unintentionally gazing at the girl in the gold dress who was laughing at something Louis had said. Danielle quickly returned my attention back to her.

Cassie POV

"Are you tired?" Eleanor asked, her perfectly sculpted lips pursing worriedly. "Yeah, you're looking kind of pale, love." Lou added from her spot with the sleeping Lux in her mothers lap. I sighed, knowing it's true, I WAS exhausted, and I know just how unsafe it was for me to be this tired. I bit my lip, and shook my head, my curls slapping at my face, "Nah, I'm alright." "No," Harry's strong voice interjected, "You're white as a ghost, Cassie. You seem sick. I'm gunna go get Li-" I shook my head strongly, "No. I'll do it." I stated, pushing back my chair and standing feeling light headed but ignoring it. I glanced around looking for the older boy, and spotted him talking to Danielle. 'Well. Looks like Payzers back.' I thought to myself in distaste, and shook my head in shame at myself. 'I have no reason not to like her.' I told my subconcious who was itching at me to be angry with them both. I walked sluggishly up to Liam, not having my usual bubbly energy, and i didnt miss the glare i got from Danielle as I grabbed Liam's wrist. He tensed at my touch and glanced to me, as he stopped talking to Dani. "Cassie, you okay?"  He asked, and I nodded trying not to be nervous from the girl's intense and angry gaze, "E-erm, well, I'm tired.. can we go?" He sighed, now seeming slightly annoyed with me, and i felt a tinge of hurt, "In a minute okay? I wanna talk to Dani for a bit." Then he brushed me off, pushing me back lightly to get me to release my grip on his arm. I stumbled back, straight into someone, and Liam went back to his conversation with a very pleased Danielle acting as if I wasnt even there. It hurt, being unacknowleged by him, and I felt rejected and defeated. I finally glanced up, my eyes filled with tears from the exhaustion that was causing my muscles and head to hurt along with the pain of being ignored by one of the people i trust dearly. Harry stood, his nostrils flared in anger as he glared at the back of Liam's head. His hands were on my shoulder to steady me, but were gentle unlike his dark green eyes similar to my own that looked hard and cold. "Cassie," he stated, calmly which made him seem more terrifying, although i wasnt scared at all by him knowing he wouldnt hurt me, "Zayn and Perrie are leaving, they will give you a lift. Go home and get some sleep." "Har-" I tried to argue, but he shot me look, his eyes softening a little, "Cassie you can barely stand, go." I bit my lips and nodded, gathering my shoes from where I had left them, and saying goodbye to everyone, before spotting Zayn waving at the other three girls, Perrie on his arm. I approached them bashfully, and Zayn smiled down at me, but only softly, Im sure someone told him why i would be going with them. "Let's get you home, Love." Perrie smiled sympathetically, wrapping her free arm around my waist, and I let her lead me to the limo they would be riding in. I climbed in, not even acknowledging how this was the first time I'd ever been in such a vehicle. I told them the address as they climbed in, and Zayn told the driver as he and Perrie sat across from me. It was silent for a minute or so before i spoke up, "Why was Harry so angry?" Zayn chuckled a little, "Harry doesnt take being mean or hurting a woman well. No matter if its ignoring, or what. He also cant stand when someone doesnt feel well, like you obviously dont. Such as when we were in a recording studio, a tech man was being rude to an intern who got his coffee wrong. He called her a bitch and Harry overheard. God he was mad, he yelled at him, fired him, and then sat with the girl till she calmed down. The only reason he didnt hit him was because we kept reminding him he would get in trouble." i bit my lip, taking this information in, and felt myself growing worried, and Perrie laid her hand on my knee comfortingly, "Don't worry, he won't hit Liam." Zayn shook his head, "Nah, he couldnt. He'd regret it for the rest of his life, but i promise Liam will feel guilty as hell in the morning."
