Daniel seems shocked at my question.
"Because I don't think he's right for you"
"...because he's Asian?" I say in a sour tone.
"No well yes but also because he's seems like a jerk". I slam my hands on the table.
"He is not a jerk he is a true gentleman why can't anyone see that!" I yell
"Alyssa please your making a scene" Daniel said. I look around and see almost everyone looking at me but I don't care that's not the problem right now. After Jess gives us our orders we start up the conversation again.
"Alyssa can I ask you something?"
"Shoot" I say with my mouth full of BLT.
"Are you...in love with Michael" I choke on those words.
"Alyssa!" Daniel pats my back as I swallow my food.
"Thanks" I say while gasping for air.
"So you do"Daniel said. I look down at the floor shyly.
"Zio Enzo will never approve of this you know he wants you to marry someone Italian"
"There are a lot of things he doesn't approve of" I mumble quietly. Just then Daniel puts a hand on my shoulder.
"As much as I don't want to I'll support you though this and fight for you. Beside I would do way worse for my favourite cousin slash little sister" he saids with a giant smile.
"Thank you".
