Chapter 45

"Friends you say, that surprising" Jess said. Meanwhile at the cafe where Alyssa and Michael are.

"Do you like the cake?"

"Yeah it's so sweet and yummy, it's great!"

"I love watching you eat" Michael said.

"What?"

"Oh no it's nothing, just that every bite you take you seem to enjoy it, it's written all over your face". I blush at his words. But Michael seems distracted still he might still be thinking about Derek.

"Um, if it's ok for me to ask but um, how do you know Derek?" I ask and Michael seems surprised.

"Why do you want to know?"

"It's just it seems like you want to talk about it, and I'm worried" Michael is taken back by my words.

"Derek used me..."

"What do you mean?" I ask. While Michael is telling me the story the same thing is happening to Jess with Derek.

"Me and Michael went to school together" said Derek.

"I went to school with him" said Michael.

"We did everything together, but once we got to high school things changed"

"When went to high school together everything seemed fine, till Derek got in real trouble"

"These dog tags are the reason I'm still around" Derek said holding his dog tags around his neck and Jess gives out a little gasp.

"What do you mean still around?" Jess said.

"Back in high school I was kinda a drug dealer" he said and Jess was shocked.

"Derek sold drugs at my school" said Michael.

"What?" I say surprised.

"Yeah and that's not the worst thing, he used me to sell the drugs!" I'm shocked, why would someone do that?

"I was in trouble, the guys I hung where a group that sold drugs to everyone so they were called cool and like any teenage kid they wanted to be cool, they said if I could find away to sell the drugs and not get found out I would gain there respect and become one of them"

"You crazy" Jess said crossed armed.

"Yeah I know" Derek said with a smirk.

"Derek used me, he told me these drugs were just powder and people just like to use it for cooking...I was a stupid kid thinking he was my friend" Michael said with teary eye's. It breaks my heart seeing him like this.

"Michael was my only true friend and I did that to him, one day it got out of hand someone told the principal that Michael was selling drugs around the school. He almost got suspended if it wasn't for his good grades he would have been" Derek said.

"He used me...as you could of guessed I was a nerd, I only had about one or two friends and Derek was one of them after he left I was abandoned, the other friend didn't see eye to eye with me so my high school life was kinda messed up" it makes me wanna cry to see him like this. As I'm thinking this a tear rolls down my cheek.
