Chapter 39

A day later Alyssa and Michael pay a visit to Jess's work. But she is no where to be seen.

"Where is she?" I say while holding Michael's hand. Suddenly I see one of Jess's work mates Olivia. I walk up to her.

"Olivia!"

"Oh, hey you two, what's up?"

"Jess, is she here?" I ask.

Olivia seems surprised.

"She didn't tell you?"

"Tell me what?"

"She quit yesterday"

"What?!" What is she thinking, quitting, I have to find her.

"O-okay thanks" I say as we walk out the cafe. Michael then puts him hands on my shoulders and looks into my eyes.

"It's okay, she'll be fine it's Jess were talking about" he said in a calm voice and I smile. He's right it's Jess I'm sure she's fine. Meanwhile Jess is practicing with her club with Nathan in the audience. He said he wouldn't tell but he never said he'll show up and watch her practice. When she begins her break she walks over to Nathan.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"What does it look like, sketching" he said with this eye's still focused on his work. Nathan wants to be an artist like his dad and it's coming together really well. He already has paintings and sketches of his work up for sale and up in art museum. You can even say he's a bit famous.

"But why sketch here?"

"We'll before you showed up I used to come here all the time. This place helps me concentrate" he said. Jess then looks around turning to find someone.

"Hey have you seen the manager, I have to talk to him about the concert"

"No, even if I did I would have no clue who your manager is" he said in a pissed voice. Meanwhile Jess's manager is passing out fliers about the upcoming show. Just then Alyssa and Michael show up.

"Alyssa just relax okay, so stop checking your phone" Michael said sounding a little annoyed.

"I'm sorry but she's my best friend and I don't know where she is" I say worryingly.

Michael then grabs my chin and pulls it towards him.

"Ah.."

"Alyssa she's fine, so can you....pay attention to me..." He said shyly. Is Michael jealous...of Jess! I start to giggle an give him a little hug.

"Your right Jess is gonna be fine, I should pay more attention to you" I say while still hugging him and he strokes my hair. Just then a man walks up to us.

"Hi sorry to interrupt but I'm a manager of a dance crew and where having a performance this Thursday, so I thought you might like to come" he said while handing Michael a flier.

"Will see what happens" Michael said as the man walks off. I then look at Michael with puppy dog up eye's.
