Chapter 10
Jace
Everything seems different now and I'm not sure if it's in a good or bad way but it's just not the same. It's December now and it's finally chilling up a bit. Collin helped me move into a two bedroom apartment so Jaden and I can have our own space. Also, since it's about to be winter break this dude from school, Jamal Langston, is going to have his annual party. He has one every year and they always are the best.
I haven't talked to Cassidy for almost two weeks even though we see each other all the time. I don't know how to start over with her. I didn't do anything to her but 'we' just need a fresh start. I don't want to give up on what could be with her so I know I need to make a move and soon before someone else gets to her. She doesn't really seem interested in anyone else though. Actually, she always seems so closed off besides the times when I see her with Lacey but even then she doesn't talk that much. Maybe that has to do with the fact that Lacey can talk your ear off. I know that personally because Lacey dated Brayden for three years before it ended and it ended real bad. Brayden still refuse to go to anything if he thinks that Lacey will be there. Lacey can be a party girl so I know that he won't be coming to Jamal's party just like every year. Collin is just going to have to be my wingman. Brayden can just watch my lil bro for me then.
The weekend is here and exam week isn't too far from sight now. Jaden already left with Brayden this morning to go to the mall and for "family bonding time". I think it's good for Jaden to be out with someone other than me now. Then at least with Brayden I trust him enough for Jay to open up and talk about whatever with him. He is my cousin after all.
It's Saturday and it looks cloudy and gray outside. So I don't expect many people to be out today. I have this feeling like I should drive my car but Brayden has it as he usually does on weekends. I guess I'll have to just take my chances.

After what felt like forever at work I'm finally off. I hop on my bike and get going for home. Brayden hasn't text me yet so he must still be out with Jaden and that means I might have some alone time to think when I get home.
Riding on the city streets for about 2 minuets before the gray clouds give in and let it rain. And it's not just some slight showers, it's pouring! Of course it's just my luck to be stuck in them when I have nowhere to go to pull over and wait for them subside a bit. I continue to ride down the streets more slowly and cautiously now when I come across a familiar car on the side of the road and the dark blonde hair owner standing outside of it. I slow down and pull up to the car.
"What're tryin' to do?" I yell out to her over the rain. She's at the trunk of the car getting something out when I come to a stop on my bike beside her.
"Huh?" Cassidy says looking up from the trunk and in my direction a little confused. There's water dripping all from her hair and she looks drenched but somehow very sexy.
"What're you doin'?" I try again rephrasing the question.
"Um... I just, I gotta flat. I guess I must've hit a nail or somethin'." She answers looking away from me, sounding a bit irritated about the situation.
"You need a hand?" I hope she says yes because this could be the fresh start I need with her.
Yet, to my dismay she says, "Ahh, no. I know how to change a tire."
Damn.
I know I should just get on my way but I just can't. I can't leave her standing here trying to change a tire by herself. So I pull my motorcycle to the side of the road and get off of it. I walk to the back of the car where Cassidy is and see her trying to pull the spare out of her trunk but I guess it must be too heavy for her because she looks like she's struggling to get it out.
