It's been about six months since the night at the burrow. Harry, Hermione, and Ron won't even look at me when I pass them in the corridors. It's as if I don't exist, though I can't exactly blame them I can't guarantee I'd trust me if I were in their situation. For once these six months have almost been peaceful. Almost. There's been the odd rumor or two about what's been happening beyond school and such. Then of course the incident with Ronald ending up in the hospital wing, he was poisoned, or so I heard he was poisoned. Of course I barely know anything about that. Other than that, my only problem at the moment is passing OWLs...for the moment.
I lean my cheek into my hand propping my elbow on the edge of the table. I poke at my food absentmindedly, I wasn't particularly hungry but Millicent and Daphne would have a fit if I miss lunch. Especially after they think I'm back to myself again, which is just what I want them to think so they don't get dragged into worrying about me.
I catch a glimpse of a familiar figure entering the great hall. I can't remember where I've seen her but its bugging me to no extent. Her dark hair in a high ponytail, her Gryffindor colors worn proudly was familiar yet foreign at the same time. Harry leaps from his seat to meet the girl; I'm drawn away from the two and notice Draco walk in. He stares at the floor as he wanders in slowly. He looks up and suddenly stops in step. I follow his gaze to the girl Harry is talking to then look back at Draco. His skin is ghostly white; his eyes darken, flickering with fear. I'm puzzled by what I see; I look to the girl again and see another girl walk next to her, this one I do remember. It was Leanne, the girl who was getting questioned the day... Wait—that girl must be Katie Bell! That's why Harry seems so eager to talk to her and Draco's terrified. I look to the entrance of the great hall and see Draco turning swiftly on his heel exiting quickly.
I quickly get out of my seat, not thinking straight and follow him despite him having a huge gap for me to close in order to catch up to him. I manage to finally get him in sight and see him rush into Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. I slow my pace and walk towards the bathroom, entering quietly stepping into the main bit with all the sinks.
Draco was leaning on the edge of a sink, his tie ripped off, and his shirt a bit loose looking all disheveled. He let out a loud cry, gripping the sides of the sinks as if he couldn't hold himself up. I've seen him, hurt and sad before, a long time ago. But that was nothing, he was properly crying. Tears running down his face making him look deranged. He finally reached his breaking point. I step towards him but I don't go farther.
"Stop caring. Save yourself the trouble."
Those words rung through my mind over and over. Just turn away and pretend you didn't see this, it isn't like he wants your help remember. I argue with myself for a moment. I clench my fists to keep them from shaking, it's not like I was ever one to listen to what he says anyways.
"Draco?" I mutter miserably. He looks up and sees me in the cracked mirror. He whips around, pale and scared. I expect him to yell at me, to tell me to leave alone, but he says nothing. I take a step closer getting a better look at him. He looked almost like a little boy again, almost innocent, and just confused. He ran his fingers through his hair which now messily fell across his forehead, completely freaking out. He wiped his cheeks his sleeve and pinches the bridge of his nose shutting his eyes.
"What are you doing here," He asks shakily.
"I..." I look at my shoes. What was I doing here? "I—"
"Y/N?" Harry glares at the two of us, pointing his wand ferociously at Draco. "You knew all about him didn't you." He accuses.
"No—I mean yes—I mean not exactly. Harry this isn't that simple," I say louder and a bit more agitated than I mean to.
"Because of him Ron and Katie almost died!" He lashes out and grips his wand more firmly. Draco shoved forward, whipping out his wand shooting a hex at Harry narrowly missing him shattering a lamp near Harry's head.
"Stop it!" I shout my voice bouncing off the tiled walls. Harry took cover behind a stall door and sent a spiraling purple hex from his wand. Draco blocks it and raises his wand shooting another hex, a loud bang follows exploding a bin behind Harry. Harry shoots a jinx, which backfires and smashes the cistern next to me. I yelp and water outpoured everywhere flooding the floor leaving me soaked.
Harry runs up through an aisle dodging a silver spell Draco shot. I run towards the last column of cubicles nearly slipping. Draco points his wand at Harry, but Harry was too fast for him, his wand sparking red. "Draco!" Without hesitation I yank Draco's arm pulling him out of the line of fire. "SECTUMSEMPRA!" Harry bellows.
I crash backwards onto the waterlogged floor. Everything became a blur; my body ached like I was slashed by invisible daggers. I struggle to move and coughing up blood; I shut my eyes whimpering in pain. I feel the water being disturbed and I force my eyes open, though I can see about as much as when my eyes were closed. My tears blocked my vision; I could faintly make out Draco's outline. He kneels next to me, his knee touching my arm.
"Y-Y/N?" His voice trembles and he takes my hand. Suddenly, I hear the creak of the door swinging open. A black clad figure swept in, I felt a light pressure on one of my wounds and I scream, which makes my throat burn and sting. My breaths become short, I hear a voice muttering an incantation, it sounded almost like a song, I focus on the words rather than the pain; slowly slipping into unconsciousness.

Draco's P.O.V

She's been in the hospital wing for two days; she hasn't woken since she passed out in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. I haven't left the hospital wing since then either unless I absolutely needed to. I watch her laying still in the hospital bed her skin still so pale. Why did she pull me out of the way? Why was she even there in the first place? After all I've done and said to her. Guilt overcame me, memories flashing in my mind like a nightmare. The pained look on her face every time I pushed her away and threw cruel insults at her. I want to take everything back, everything I said, I wanted her to wake up so I could tell her I didn't mean what I said.
I rub circles into the back her hand with my thumb; the image of her blood tainting the water haunts me. I heard the rubber squeak of shoes and I turn my head quickly. Standing there was the last person I wanted to see right now. He was the one who did this to her.
I glared a lethal glare at him, he looked miserable. He's eyes heavy with guilt, his figure slouched. "Malfoy," he glared back tiredly.
"Potter," I spat his name like it was poison in my mouth. "What are you doing here," I asked sharply.
"I came to see how she's doing." He said simply.
"She's fine," I said quickly. "No thanks to you."
His eye's darkened and he straightened himself slightly. "I never meant to hurt her," He said defensively. "I didn't know what that spell did otherwise I wouldn't have fired it."
"But you did," I hiss. "Just stay away."
"Hey, she's my friend you don't have a right to tell me to leave," He raises his voice.
"Some treatment you give your friends," I snort. "I've seen you, that mud blood Granger, and Weasley ignoring her for months."
"That's rich coming from you, you abandoned her. You've made her feel horrible for over a year!" He shouts. I tense up and let her hand drop from my grasp. I want to argue, but I can't. I know what he said is true. I know what I've done. I've been stubborn; I couldn't forgive her even after she attempted to mend things.
From the corner of my eye, I see Madame Pomfrey talk to him in a hushed tone, moments later he leaves without another word. I held my head in my hands, my mind is spinning, my stomach is churning, and my heart was in my throat.
How could I expect her to forgive me, when I couldn't show her any forgiveness? I see the sheets stir and I quickly sit up again. Her eyes flutter open and I feel a bit of relief wash over me. She looks around at her surrounds, cringing when she turns too much.
Finally her eyes meet mine; she scooted as far away from me as the bed would her. It was like a blow to the stomach seeing her react like that; I'm the only one to blame though. She stared at her hands trying to avoid eye contact. "Y/N I—"
"Why are you here Malfoy?" She cut me off her voice was quiet but weak sounding. I flinch at the sound of my last name. It sounded so venomous coming from her lips. "Well?"
