Chapter 19: Follow the leader

**Hannah's POV**

Chase and I walk down to the lab on our phones, but when we look up we see a swimming pool, a beach chair, clothes on a line, basically the lab was a huge mess.

"What the?" Chase says confused.

"Ah, Intruder!" A lady pops up from a bed, then she shots a blast gun at us barely missing my arm, Chase does an Ariel to avoid being blown apart.

"Perry?!" Chase asks shocked.

"Chaz?!" The woman named Perry asks Chase. She was short, had red hair, she wore pajamas with kittens on them. Who is she anyway? Why is there a random lady here?

"It's Chase." Chase tells her.

"I know, I just like the name Chaz better." She stood up. Wow, she's funny, but mean.

"Hi." I squeak awkwardly.

"Hannah this is Perry, Perry this is Hannah." Chase introduces me to the lady named Perry.

I wave at her kindly, "nice to meet you."

"Oooh! Is this one of the superheroes you and the other girl are working with." Perry says excitedly.

"Yep. Wait, is she aloud to know?" I ask Chase.

"It doesn't matter, she'd eventually find out if she doesn't know now anyway." Chase replies.

"What are you doing here?" Chase asks her.

"I decided to take a little vaca from the academy." She says. Academy? Like the one Chase and Bree used to be mentors at? The bionic academy. On a tropical island?

"So, you left a tropical island to vacation in the windowless underbelly of a skyscraper?" He asks just what I was thinking. This lady is slightly weird, but that's okay I guess.

"Yep." She replied positively. "I had to get my skin back to its natural state, pale and clammy." Why would she want that? If I could go to a tropical island then I would stay there! Chase nodded his head at Perry's statement. "Plus Im from here."

"You were born in Centium city?" He asks curiously. I just stood in the corner while they had their conversation.

"Nope, under. In the network of tunnels underneath the ground." Perry lifts up her gun to point around the room where we had the tunnels.

"Okay! How about we put the weapon down!" Chase exclaims backing up when Perry points it at him.

"Sorry, When your born in the bows of the city, you learn to watch your back. And you also learn that not everything that looks like meat, is meat." Um weird...

Chase gives me a look and grabs Perry's shoulder, "time to go." We all walk into the hydro lift, but when Chase pushed the button it doesn't go up.

"What's going on?" I ask Chase worriedly.

"Great, your blast broke the hydrolift." Chase says to Perry angrily. Does he know her? I'm starting to think he doesn't exactly like her.

"Well your the one that ducked out of the way!" Perry exclaimed. Okay, that was funny. I have to admit it.

"It broke?!" I ask groaning. "Are you two related to each other or something?
