Chapter 6: Unexpected

Our long day of training was finally over! Amanda had found another weather type power and I figured out my ability of mind reading. When we finished roller skating on Saturday, we ate Pizza Hut and I read Oliver's thoughts towards the pizza. It was really awkward because I thought he was talking out loud, so I responded. Everyone thought I was going crazy, Mr. Davenport figured out it was actually a new power.

Right now, Bree was talking about her new crush on a boy she met at the Pizza Hut with Skylar. Oliver was watching animal planet. Kaz and Amanda were talking to each other about something. Chase and I just sat on the couch awkwardly not watching. The tv or talking to each other. I wonder why we won't talk, maybe I should bring something up. I hope he doesn't think I'm reading his mind! That might be awkward...

"So..." I say. He looks at me and we both look away. This is weird.

"Why is it so hard to talk to you? I mean, you like to talk about science and all of that boring stuff, but usually I can talk to you." I say. Hopefully not accidentally offending him with the whole science is boring comment.

"Maybe it's because you like each other." Oliver says budding Into the conversation grinning at Chase wiggling his eyebrows.

"What? How would you know anyways?" I asked him folding my arms skeptically.

"Oh I don't know. Maybe because you held his hand!" Oliver exclaimed.

"It was simply to help him skate! Did you see him out there?" I argued, "no offense, Chase."

"See! you are even trying to not offend him! Besides, I was skating awfully too, why didn't you help me?" Oliver adds thinking he won.

"I don't like to offend people, I'm not that low! So, you wanted me to hold your hand?" I shot back. He immediately shook his head.

"I love Skylar." Oliver said firmly..

"I'm just gonna go." Chase said getting up slowly before I pulled him down.

"Your just as involved with this as me. Now tell him you don't like me." I order him.

"But I do like you-wait that sounds wrong. I mean, I like you as a friend." He says.

"Haha! I told you! We. are. friends. Right Chase?" I say.

"Sure, now can I go?" Chase asks.

"Nope. We are going to talk. Like normal friends do." I tell him sitting him down. Silence. "Dude, just talk. You know, the first million digits of pi or something sciencey."

"But you'll think that's boring." He complained.

"He's trying to impress you." Oliver whispered to me though Chase could probably still hear.

"Maybe Oliver is right then-" I fall onto be couch sighing. "Do you like me?"

"I don't know. I've never had a real crush on a girl before." Chase answered I rose my eyebrows. "Never?" He shook his head.

"Okay. For now we will be just good friends. If we start to like each other for sure, then we will see what happens."

"Look who was right." Oliver says winking at us and pointing at himself.

"Hey guys! Who want to go to the park? I told Andrew I would meet him there." Bree says walking in the room.

"Why would we want to go on your date with you?" Amanda asks saying exactly what I was thinking.

"It not a date." Bree said simply looking upset. "He just wanted to meet all of us. He said his sister would be coming too. Please come!"

"Fine." We stood up from the couch. Why would this guy want to meet us? Oh yeah, forgot that Bree and Chase are famous. Everyone of us left the building and walked all of the way to the park. A tall boy with brown hair stood next to a girl with wavy brown hair.

"Hello." Bree greeted. "This is my brother." She gestures to Chase who just looked at the two people. "The rest are my friends, Kaz, Oliver, Skylar, Amanda and Hannah."

"Nice to meet you all." He had a British accent and a kind smile. He shook all of our hands. "I'm Andrew and This is my sister Elizabeth." Elizabeth smiled at us and waved.

"What is it like to be a bionic hero?" Andrew asks Bree. While they have a conversation about that, the rest of us talked to Elizabeth. Well, technically everyone but Amanda and I.

Later that afternoon we went to the fish shop. I don't even know why, I guess Elizabeth likes fish. Elizabeth was being as rude as possible to Amanda and I whenever everyone had their backs turned away from us. I never thought anybody could hate somebody so fast.

"This place stinks like fish." Oliver complained.

"It doesn't usually smell like this," she says to everyone then turns to Amanda and I and whispered, "maybe it's because you guys are in here."

"Alright, I don't know what your problem is with us, but you don't even know me and every time you get the chance, to insult us, you take it." Amanda said having enough.

"Listen, I know you two aren't like those five. I need to get rid of you, so that I can follow through on my plan." Elizabeth tells us in a deep voice when the others turned the corner.

"Whoa, you've got a plan? What would that be for?" I ask shocked. Does she even know us?

"I'm going to draw the elite force into me and stop them from ruining our plan to take over the world. I can't do that with you two in the way." She explains. A red flag pops up In my head, she's a villain!

"Draw the elite force into you? You literally just told us your plan. We're going to tell them it." Amanda says and we both cross our arms to look cool.

"They aren't going to believe you when I become good friends with them. And just in case," Elizabeth takes our phones from our hands and throws them in a fish tank, "you have no evidence." She walks away back to the others.

"Hold on Ms take over the world," Amanda runs up to her and takes her own phone too. "You will not throw my phone in the water and expect nothing in return." Amanda let's go of her phone over a fish tank. I laugh and high five Amanda.

Elizabeth glares and leaves to suck up to Chase, Bree, Kaz, Skylar and Oliver. Amanda and I are gonna prove her wrong; we will get them to believe us.
