I hide in the dark
In the depths of your mind
A secret to be kept
Where no one shall find

I'm the voice inside you
That makes you feel blue
You scream for me to go away
Even though you know I shall stay

I am the voice you fear
The one you hope no one will hear
I whisper goodnight
Whenever you turn out the light

By the use of that knife
You have let me into your life
Everyday when you wake
You wear a smile that's fake

I am the voice
You made the choice
You wanted a friend
Until the very end

I am the voice
Who gave you a choice
I gave you that knife
To end your own life
