Cupcakes

Zayn's P.O.V*

'I just remembered. Laura went home early today' I hear Liam say.

Just the mention of her name gave me a lot of mixed feelings, I could feel the butterflies in my stomach and my head wasn't able to function. The effect she has on me is just crazy, I guess she doesn't remember me one bit.

I let out a sigh as I stare out into the green open field playing back the memories in my head from back in Bradford.

'No wonder she didn't come up with Jenny to sing in music class today' Harry replies back joining in the conversation about Laura.

Why did Liam have to bring it up in the first place anyways? Can they just stop talking about her? Now I won't be able to stop thinking about her. I look down at my wrist where a blue/turquoise bracelet was wrapped around it.

'Yeah, Jenny... I didn't know she could sing. She was amazing, just imagine if Laura was up there with her, I didn't even know Laura could sing either' I hear Niall say.

Of course he didn't know, of course they wouldn't know. I let out a scoff for his naivety, I then open my mouth to reply back but then I shut it close. There's no use of telling them about my past, even if I did, it wouldn't change anything. It wouldn't change the fact that she's forgotten about me, it wouldn't change the fact that she broke her promise.

I remember back in Bradford when Laura and I would always sing during class time and the teacher would always get mad at us for not paying attention, my mom didn't exactly make a big deal about it because she knew how much I enjoyed singing, same goes for Laura's mom, she actually laughed about it. My thoughts were later interrupted when Harry spoke up. 

'Mate, are you ok? You seem out of it today' Harry says as he puts his hand on my shoulder.

'Yeah' I simply reply back fiddling with the friendship bracelet on my wrist.

It's only been a few hours since we got here but it feels like its been a whole year. Who knows how long the management will let us stay here. I just hope something interesting happens tomorrow, I mean Louis is coming to school tomorrow and on top of that, it would be Friday.

Laura's P.O.V*

'Done' I happily say as I step back examining the cupcakes I've decorated.

I begin separating them individually deciding whether who gets what cupcake. That ones definitely Luke's I think to myself as I stare at the cupcake with the simple yellow frosting and two chocolate buttons as eyes and smaller white chocolate buttons as his pupils, I then begin to start laughing as my creation of the Pokemon character Pikachu was a lot worse compared to the plan I had in my head.

I scan through the rest of the other cupcakes laughing at my failed decorating. I then let out a sigh as I finished choosing, now time to put them in a safe place.

What should I do now? 3 more hours until Luke and dad gets home. Might as well kill some time. I tried reading, drawing and even more reading but I still wasn't entertained. I even tried watching t.v but as soon as I turned it on, I knew straight away there would be nothing interesting on at this time and I was right. I even tried doing my nails but I wasn't in the mood for it at the moment.

I lay on the couch taking my phone out of my pocket scrolling through my music list and at the same time looking around the living room trying to find some earphones to use, I then spot my older brothers earphones on the arm of the leather black couch opposite of me, I get up grabbing it and then I lay back down on the couch plugging it into my phone, I tap on the very first song I spot 'Secrets by One Republic' I smile as the music starts playing.

'I need another story, something to get off my chest. My life gets kinda boring, need something that I can confess' I start to softly sing looking up at the ceiling.

I sing through all the way to the second verse but before I knew it, my voice was getting a lot more quieter and quieter the more the song continued, my eyes then began to feel heavy making my eyes slowly begin to flutter shut, I was now drifting off into a peaceful sleep.

'Laura, Laura, Laura, Laura, Laura,Lauraaaaaaa' I hear an irritating voice just barely loud enough to overlap the music in my ears, my eyes slowly begin to open and a moan escapes my lips.

'Go away' I say looking up at the fuzzy image and then turning my back towards it. 

'No, aren't you going to greet me like you always do' he replies back tapping my shoulders.

I sit up right rubbing my eyes and then covering my mouth with my hand as I let out a yawn.

'Heyyyyyy!' I say trying to sound enthusiastically as I can.

'Hi. Soooo where did you put the cupcakes?' He replies back curiously.

'They're on top of the counter where the kitchen is, don't eat all of them' I say getting up from the couch.

I follow behind Luke as he makes his way towards the kitchen.

'Oh hi dad, when's Justin coming come?' I say as I join him at the dining table just causally eating his cupcake, I look behind him as I eye out Luke as he eats his Pikachu cupcake making sure he wouldn't eat the rest,  he must've figured out that I specially decorated it just for him because he instantly picked it up before even considering to look at the rest. 

'Not sure, but he'll be here' He replies back looking up at the clock hanging on the wall behind me.

'So how was your day Luke?' I curiously ask as I look back at him enjoying his cupcake.

'Um, it was good' He simply says joining us at table.

'Oh yeah, this Saturday, remember?' I say reminding my dad about the normal plans I always have on Saturdays.

'Mmmhmm, me and your mom will be back on Sunday afternoon, make sure you don't burn the house down ok?' He replies back 'And make sure Luke comes home on time too' he continues as he looks at Luke and Luke just smiles at him giving him the thumbs up.

'Yes dad, you've been telling me that for the past year now' I reply back nodding my head laughing.
