She's a mother and a best friend wrapped into one
Always able to spare a few quarters for a gum ball.
She's a parent without discipline
Always willing to take me out and buy my favorite ice cream.
She's lived through a different time in history
Always wanting to share a story of the past with me.
She's experienced every season of life
Always there to guide me when I don't know where to turn.
She's lost her youth and a little hearing
But she's always listening when I need someone to understand.
She's overcome the loss of many dear friends and family members
Always ready with a warm hug and chocolate chip cookies when the tears won't stop.
She's danced, laughed, sang and lived
Always bringing warmth and happiness to anyone graced with her presence.
She's a special gift from God above
Always wrapped up in the unconditional love of her Savior.
She's an amazing woman, mother, wife and friend
She's my grandma
And I love her as much as the desert loves the rain
Always.
