He and Claudia were innocently speaking to one another in the small cell, about the City Of Light, and their docile plans, until an interruption occurred. The cell door slid open, as Wells' father stepped in, followed by Clarke's head popping out from the rear edge of the door chanting "You've got five minutes before you leave." Before slamming it shut. Wells couldn't help but stare at his Father. A sense of dread and mixed feelings overcame him, he made a few steps forward, hugging him tightly. Claudia just watched with her widened eyes.
"Hello, Wells." Jaha smiled, rubbing his sons back, as he made the hug sterner. Wells gripped him tighter as well, feeling as if he was going to tear up. He was astonished to see him earlier. he knew he was alive, but didn't expect to see him this soon, or ever. Earlier, when he did see him for that short three minute period, his Father managed to tell what happened to The Ark, and how he is down here. Wells was upset his Father wasn't Chancellor anymore, but maybe that is a good thing.
"Hey, Dad." He smiled back, slowly breaking away from the hug. The two continued their smiles, until Claudia stepped into the gap between Wells and his Father. She had a smirk on her face, as she tilted her head, giving Jaha a more sincere stare.
"I've seen you earlier when I was in here. My name is Thelonious. Thelonious Jaha." He grinned, his arm drawing out, as he loosened his palms, expecting a handshake. Wells hoped Claudia will treat him with respect, she doesn't seem like the kind of person to be kind at first glance. But surprisingly, she did shake his hand. A smile flickered across her face.
"Nice to Meet you Thelonious, My name is Claudia Kom Plain Rida."
"Will you be joining my son and I's trip back to our camp?" Jaha asked. Wells confusingly rose a brow, not even verifying what his Father just said.
"Wait, what?" Wells asked curiously. "We didn't say we are going back with you." Wells retorted, crossing his arms. His Father tilted his head, undergoing confusion as well.
"Wells, you must! This isn't a place for a seventeen year old boy. These people aren't the best, mostly they are killers! I need you to come back, so you can lead I and a few group members to find the Dropship, we need to find the remaining hundred." Jaha protested.
"Alright, I will help you in transporting the remaining hundred from the Dropship to The Ark wreckage, I just am not going to stay along with you all. I and a dozen others are going somewhere...and, I would like for you to join us dad." A heartwarming smile rose upon Wells face, and his fingers folded.
"Where to?"
"A place, through the Deadzone and across a small plot of sea." Wells explained. "The City Of Light, it is called. Its a promised land, willing to accept those of any belief, ethnicity, or culture. It is a place of freedom and promise. I hate Trikru, the main Grounders who rule the land. They've hunted my friends, speared my friends, and chopped my friends heads off. I hate this whole peace thing Clarke and the coalition commander, Lexa, have arranged! I want nothing to do with them, and that is why we are leaving."
"Wells, how can you set out on an expedition when you don't understand the terrain!? I understand I did with the group of others, but we weren't going this large of a distance."
"That is why we have her." Wells gestured towards Claudia, who was stroking her loose ginger locks, standing there with quite a good attitude. "She is Lexa's sister, she hates Trikru too. She knows this world like the back of her hand, and can help us."
"Not to mention I can find a way to hitch us some weapons. The Plain-Riders are good like that." She winked. Wells enthusiastically glanced at his dad, smiling.
"You'll love it Dad, trust me. Freedom, for life! Just like mom would have wanted, just like grandpa would have wanted...Just like you would have wanted." Wells put up a great persuading point, as Jaha slowly massaged the tip of his trimmed beard, before allowing that hand to fall by his waistline.
"Very well, Wells. I'll join you on your voyage..Just promise that we'll transport the remaining hundred from the Dropship to safety in the Ark wreckage first, Okay?" Jaha asked, reaching his hand out. Wells smile deepened, as he shook his Fathers hand, giving him a pat on the back. After that, the door opened, and Clarke stepped inside.
"Come on, I asked Lexa, she said she approves you going back to camp Wells, looks like your sentence isn't as long as you thought." Clarke grinned. Wells grinned back, followed by Claudia coming up behind him. "...Although Lexa didn't approve you leaving...she said a few more hours here, then you-"
"Ah, screw Lexy. My little sister probabaly doesn't give two shits where I end up, so screw her, lets go." Claudia grumbled, pushing past Clarke, as she strut down the halls. Clarke sighed, ignoring her ignorance. Wells came up to Clarke, frowning.
"So, your not coming with us?"
"Got a war to plan Wells...a war.."
"I see...you probably won't see I and my Father for a while, after transporting the remaining hundred to the ark wreckage, we're setting out on an expedition to find the city of light, Lexa's offer." Wells half grinned, but then his mug fully transitioned to a frown. Clarke nodded.
"I'm glad you took her offer..I'm glad your going...I wish you best on your travels.." Clarke shook Wells hand, before Wells turned around, about to go find Claudia and leave, until he felt arms wrap around him. Clarke. She squeezed him closely into a hug, patting his back, as she managed to get close enough to his ears, to whisper these words. "May We Meet Again." She then broke away from the hug, turning and strutting down the hallway, probably going off to plan war with Lexa or something. Wells just stared as she disappeared down the corridors. Once she was gone, he pursed his lips, blinked a few times, and let out a huge amount of carbon dioxide as he mumbled:
"May We Meet Again, Clarke.." He sighed, before turning to his Father, who stood there blankly. The two finally met up with Claudia, who was at the elevator shaft of the Polis skyscraper, where she and them climbed down, and traveled out of the Capitol, going to do one more thing before they begin their travels.
