I woke up at 5 am and found Julia still sleeping. We both had a tough night. But I also realized I had also found a friend. I still had to tell Charles about her. Before I went to bed last night, I received numerous text messages from Charles asking me of my whereabouts.

Where are you?

Have you eaten dinner already?

Why are you not replying?

Earth to Vivienne?

I really want to come and get you but Nana seems sick.

Call me when you arrive.

Vivienne, I think I heard your voice from our room. Are you with someone?

I wondered what he thought when he heard another voice. I kept on calming Julia last night when I brought her upstairs to my room. When I got Julia settled for bed and it was time for me to sleep, I texted Charles first.

"I'm okay. But I'm also tired. Talk to you in the morning."

He replied minutes later, "Ohh thank God you're alive! I thought I would be retrieving you in a pit somewhere." I chuckled at that message. He was waiting for me and praying I was still alive. If only we didn't treat each other as siblings this message would send the entire animal kingdom in my stomach frantic. Okay, he could still give me all those feels even though we're just friends. God I wished we weren't just friends. Well, there goes another sound of my heart breaking. I replied to Charles, "Good night." He replied seconds later, "See you in the morning, love." Hah. Love. He called me love. If only there's a way out of the friendzone-kind-of-love.

I snapped out from the memory last night and looked back at Julia. I needed to prepare breakfast for us. And I needed to know something, anything about her. Sometimes I'd thought she could be a serial killer or a drug syndicate running away from the police. Or maybe she's just an abused woman escaping from a horrible past.

Seconds later, I received a text from Charles. "Good morning." And then I heard a knock on the door. It must be Charles. He probably came to see me already. At first it was just like three taps on the door. But when I was almost near the door, I heard three loud bangs. Wow, Charles must be really eager to see me. I opened the door expecting to see those green eyes. Instead, they were brown. Charles looked handsome but this guy in front of me was undeniably hot. And rude! How dare he knock hard on my door?

"Uhh, what do you want?!" I asked furiously.

"Is Julia here?" And then he spotted Julia sleeping on the couch.

"What the hell do you want from her?!" This must be the ex-monster. There's no way he'd get close to Julia. Not in my room. I totally went ballistic. He tried to shove me but I got the upper hand. I screamed to alert the neighbors, "Burglar!!!" I'm not sure if he really was here to rob me but anything that would alert the neighbors. He stopped shoving me and calmly said, "Please, I'm just here for Julia." I screamed at him even louder. "Help there's a burglar!" He was probably irritated so he put his hand on my mouth and shoved my face so that he could get in.

"How dare you?!" I shouted at him but he was already at Julia's side. He was waking her up with words of endearment. Whatever, this creep had to go. Julia woke up seconds later and I still continued to shout at this creep hotstuff. I was so exasperated. I threatened him that I would call the police. But he just laughed. I looked at Julia and she seemed calm and okay with this guy touching her. Julia tried to calm me down.
