Today was the big day. No, it's not yet my wedding day. It's my graduation day! I spent four years battling all odds to achieve my dreams. I encountered problems in school works and monsters in school corridors. But all was well because the people that I loved were always there for me and they're all that mattered. And the time had come for me to reap my good harvest. For this event, I wore my knee-length black dress matched with my two inch heeled black shoes. I kept my hair down and wore light make-up. My parents were on the living room and they had just arrived half a minute ago. Mom entered the room just as I was done prepping myself.

"Look at my baby. You're so beautiful honey," mom complimented.

Dad appeared behind her and said, "Just like your mom." They gave each other a kiss on the lips and turned back at me. I took my cap, gown, and all that I needed for the ceremony with me and we all headed downstairs to Nana's room. Dad was going to drive us to the venue. When we all got inside Nana's room, Nana and Charles was still getting ready. Mom and dad waited on the couch and I went to Charles' room. He wore a black slacks topped with a light blue dress shirt. His hair was so sleek making him looked very chic. He was about to put on his necktie when he saw me looking at me.

"Hey," he greeted, smiling at me. I replied it back and he gave me a quick kiss on the lips.

"You look so beautiful," he said.

"I'd say the same thing for you," I replied, smirking.

"Are you ready for New York?" I asked him. We had decided to take on New York together and I couldn't be more excited.

"Yeah." He looked back at the mirror so that he could start putting on his tie. He had his hands on his dark blue necktie. I went closer to him and said, "May I tie it?"

"Do you know how?" his eyebrows raised. Honestly, I don't know how. But I wanted to know how to do that because someday I would marry a man, hopefully Charles, who's going to wear a necktie and I got to be a very helpful wife. I went in front of him, faking the confidence that I knew how to knot a tie. I took the tie from his hands and put it around his neck. I focused on my hands. I had been crossing the ends, one on top of the other. And then I heard Charles giggle. I gave up. It was a mess. I ended up with a horrible tangled tie. He unraveled the tangle that I made and started from the top. I was just supposed to watch his hands as he tied the tie but he grabbed my hands and let them hold the tie.

"Oh c'mon. You saw that I sucked." I said.

He smiled at me, saying, "That's why I'm here to teach you." He then put his hands on mine. I looked intently at my hands as he guided them to make a perfect tie. He was so good. He easily crossed and wrapped the ends even with my hands under his. Once we pulled the wide end down and tightened the knot, I smiled in triumph.

"So perfect!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, I'm looking at it," he said.

I looked up to his face and saw him already looking at me. He then put his hands at my back and pulled me towards him, making our bodies so close to each other. He then tilted his face towards me so that our lips could meet. We gave each other a decent kiss but it was enough to awaken my senses.

"Are you lovebirds ready?" shouted my mom from the living room.

Charles and I synchronically replied, "Yes."

Andrews, Vivienne Marie

My name echoed throughout the entire venue as the speaker announced my name. My heart was drumming in my chest as I marched towards the center of the stage. This was it. I was finally getting my ticket to get to my dream job. There was a huge smile on my face as I met my dean. I held my diploma as if someone would steal it from me. I tried to feel the warmth of the spotlight hitting on me. I looked all over the place and I saw Charles proudly waving and clapping for me. My smile widened and I could feel myself blush. When I went down the stage, I saw Mackenzie and Phoebe also waving at me. As I went farther from the stage, I saw Julia at the edge of the row. I went near to her and we gave each other a long tight hug. We then separated and I hurriedly went back in line. When I got back to my seat, I saw Jay receiving his diploma. We had been cool for the past three years but we never talked to each other anymore. Of course it saddened me that I lost a friend but I also didn't know how to make him talk to me again. Besides, Charles would become furious and jealous if he'd seen me with Jay, although he had nothing to be jealous of. And then it was Xazelle's turn at the center. We had been very close, always being together in almost every subject in the span of four years. I would be always thankful for her camaraderie. I looked down at my diploma and smiled. This was it. I finally made it.
