The odds were not in my favor.

Our group was paired with the group of actors that had Amanda on it. Could this bitch just leave me alone? I would not be the only one getting pissed about this grouping. Daniel was on the same group as Amanda. I was silent the entire time and I let Xazelle and Jay do the talking. I needed to control my anger and try to befriend Amanda if I wanted this play to work out. Xazelle distributed the scripts and ordered them to read it. Daniel and I were both looking at each other and gave each other a smile. I totally rooted for Julia and Daniel. They were perfect for each other. One time, I was third-wheeling Julia and Daniel. Seemingly, Charles left me because Amanda texted him to come to her as soon as possible. I was lucky Julia and Daniel let me tag along. When I was with them, I could see how much their eyes screamed their love for each other. There was love in every way Daniel looked at Julia and in every way Julia smiled at Daniel. Sometimes I would jokingly puke when they kiss each other and we would all just laugh. Daniel eventually knew I was in love with Charles who was in love with Amanda.

"You should totally tell him," Daniel suggested as he wrapped his arm around Julia's shoulders. I shook my head in disagreement. There was no way I was telling Charles.

"Why not?" asked Julia.

I responded, "One word: Amanda."

It was obvious that Amanda had a big crush on Daniel. She would show to him those long magnificent legs, whip her million-dollar worth blonde hair, and puck her lips that were over-applied with lipstick. Daniel was obviously not interested in her. Amanda also had a very bad attitude and an ugly personality which were totally evident in this meeting. She stood up and started talking, "Okay, listen. I am going to be the leading lady, Martha and Daniel would be the leading man, Oscar." I saw Daniel's eyebrows narrowing and then he shouted back, "Uhh no. I can't be Oscar."

"Yeah, he can't be Oscar," I repeated. Amanda was shocked that I declined her order and she glared at me. I tried to keep calm.

Amanda then said, "You are very talented writers," she smiled while looking at me, Xazelle, and Jay. She continued, "But this is a shitty script and you are lucky you are working with me. But unless Oscar is not Daniel, I will not play Martha. And we all know that I am the most talented actress here. Basically, if it's not me, then you're fucked up." We were totally thrown with what she said. We were silent for a moment still recovering from the blow. I thought the bitch would stop talking but then she spoke, "And I will tell your teacher Mrs. Burns to give you a failing grade because of your shitty script!" This bitch was influential. She could hypnotize teachers to believe her. Xazelle, Jay, and I were totally frozen. We could not afford a failing grade. I could hear Amanda's evil laugh echoing inside my head because she triumphantly threatened us. I was in complete shock that I started to stutter. Thank God Daniel was to the rescue when he said, "Amanda, that's enough. I'll play Oscar. And we get how talented you are." Daniel turned away from Amanda and rolled his eyes. Amanda on the other hand, could not hide how flattered she was. I chuckled at how stupid Amanda looked. Daniel then continued, "And I genuinely think this script is totally great. Beautifully written! Who agrees with me?" Daniel put out his charming smile that made everyone, including the bitch, agree and clapping for praise. Daniel gave the three of us a thumbs-up. I felt relieved and quickly decided to end the meeting before Amanda decided to bite again. Everyone started dispersing. Was it always dramatic when the actors are around? Seconds later, Charles appeared to my side slowly brushing my cheek. I was so happy to meet him and at the same time mad for what had happened last night. I quickly looked away from him to let him know I was still mad.

"Ohh c'mon! I'm sorry Vie." I shot him a glare and then looked away immediately. I forced myself to not look at his puppy-eyes. He tried to play and tease me so to mollify me. He blew some air to my eyes which was irritating. I groaned and then looked at him. He had this wide smile on making him look like a clown. I couldn't help but laugh at this sight. How could I stay mad at this guy?

"Got ya!" he laughed as he finally caught my full attention.

"I hate you," I retaliated.

"I know." He went closer to me, hugged me from behind, and kissed me at the back of my head. I wobbled from his embrace but then he moved my body to face him. I looked down avoiding his gaze. He then lifted my chin willing me to meet his eyes.

"I am sorry." He was finally serious." I nodded gently and told him I forgave him. He then lowered my chin to an angle so that he could kiss my forehead. Mother of all tingles. I was in utter disbelief. But my happiness was short-lived. Charles then said, "I don't wanna lose my bestfriend." I could feel the ground break underneath as it synchronized with the breaking of my heart. I thought he chose me over Amanda. It turned out I was still his bestfriend and it was better than nothing.

Moments later, we broke from the position because Charles' phone vibrated. It turned out Amanda needed him and he had to come to her as soon as possible. Charles left me again. What's wrong with this woman? She just couldn't use anyone to do her work. If she wanted a man to actually like her, not the way Charles was blindly doing, then she should start fixing that nasty soul of hers. I looked at Daniel, Xazelle, and Jay who were still in the room. I could sense their sympathies but I was too broken to even need a hug. I just wanted to be alone and listen to the breaking sound of my heart.
