Twenty-Seven (Rin x Reader)

"E-Eh? I'm getting a ticket?" You groaned in frustration as the cop nodded, his maroon locks falling slightly onto his face.

"You were speeding about twenty seven miles over the speed limit." He protested as you slightly banged your head onto the handle of the steering wheel.

"Ugh, this day can literally not get any worse!" You muttered aloud as you looked over at the cop, who was trying his best to hold in a chuckle.

You swore you knew this one from somewhere though.

"Rin-chan?" You asked as he looked up at you, studying your face before looking down at your identification.

"Y/n-san!" He exclaimed as he began chuckling, "What a nice way to reunite!" He smiled as you did as well, though really you were just hoping that he would let you off the hook.

"Yeah, I was late for work this morning so I sped a little, what fate!" You laughed as he did as well, and put his ticket book away. Good, you got his mind off of that for a while.

"So, want to go get coffee or something and catch up?" He asked as you nodded, accepting his offer as he told you which coffee shop to go to, and went back to his car, you just decided to follow him on the way there.

You pulled into the vacant parking spot next to him as you both got out at around the same time, and walked inside together.

"So Rin, what have you been doing recently?" You asked him as he shrugged.

"Pulling over pretty people like you I suppose." Your face turned red from his answer as he nudged you in the side with his elbow.

"How are you and b/n?" He asked as you mentally cringed, it was your ex-boyfriend from high school. But when you moved to Hong Kong for college, you assumed they must have not heard.

"Uh, we broke up...like right before college started." You rubbed the back of your neck, smiling innocently as he frowned.

"Sorry to hear that, he's still living in Iwatobi now, isn't he?" He asked as your eyes widened.

"He is?" You gawked as you stepped up to order, it finally being your turn.

"May I take your order?" The person behind the counter asked us as you ordered a f/d , and Rin just ordered some coffee and a breakfast muffin.

You pulled out your card to pay, and try to butter him up when you saw him already get the receipt back, this was going to be harder than you thought.

You smiled to Rin as you both sat down at a two person table. "Thanks Rin." You thanked him as he nodded.

"But no, I was just pulling your leg. I think b/n stayed in Tokyo, wasn't it?" He asked as you nodded, it was the university he had gotten to go to, but you also heard he got kicked out and just went to a community college instead.

"Makoto and everybody else lives here too." Your ears perked up upon hearing your friend's names, Rin smiling enthusiastically.

"Really? I've lived here since about two years ago when I finished up college in Hong Kong." You muttered, "Maybe I'm just not searching hard enough for them." You pondered for a moment as Rin cleared his throat.

"Well, right now Haru is in Tokyo for training, being on the national team and all. Makoto now owns the Iwatobi swim club, and Nagisa is the owner of the new interactive aquarium in Iwatobi, and Rei is a professor at the local college. Gou became a photographer for a men's magazine, go figure." He scoffed as you laughed along with him.

"So what are you doing now?" He asked as you shrugged.

"I'm a lawyer." You immediately responded as he stiffened up.

"You're a lawyer? Yet you look like that?" He asked as you gave him a confused face.

"What do you mean by that Rin?" You smirked as his face became the color of his hair, he opened and closed his mouth trying to find the words.

"I mean, I would have thought you would have gone for the model agency or something." He murmured quietly as you covered up your snickering.

"I only did that for money in college." You sighed as he gasped.

"E-Eh?" His eyes were wide as he sat up straight in his seat, you were sure he was going to faint any time now.

"It was for swimsuits so I didn't mind too much, me being a former swimmer and all." You shrugged again as his face was a ghostly pale.

"W-Why haven't I paid more attention?" He cursed to himself as you laughed.

"Rin, calm down, I'm kidding....maybe." You winked as he began to freak out again, you both having a fun time.

"No seriously, I don't think you realize how much I liked you in high school, you can't just say that Y/n!" Rin was flustered as he blurted that out.

"You...liked me in high school?" You asked as he just realized his mistake.

"Well...yeah." He rubbed the back of his neck as he chuckled nervously, as your order was brought to you. You thanked the hostess as Rin nodded, and you took a sip of your f/d.

"This is the first I've heard of it." You smirked as you awaited his confession. Even though you had loved b/n at the time, you still could admit that Rin had always been hot, and caught your interest.

"Well, that's because it was a stupid crush!" He crossed his arms and slouched in his seat.

"What are your feelings now?" You leaned forward and asked as he contemplated a moment before leaning forward and placing a tiny, fleeting kiss on your lips as you both immediately retracted.

"I...I think you know." He mumbled as you simply smirked, finishing up your drink as he did as well, and you both walked out.

"Say Rin, if you let me off with a warning for speeding....I wouldn't mind going on another date with you." You winked as he frowned.

"Is that seriously your negotiation?" He whined as you nodded, "Fine." He soon agreed as you fistpumped the air.

"Alright! Well, gotta go!" You exclaimed as he called out after you.

"But next time you're going twenty seven over the speed limit, you will be punished according to the law!" He warned as you waved off his threat.

"Whatever Rin, you love me. Just text me when you want that date!" You called out as you got into your car and sped off, leaving a dumbstruck Rin in the parking lot, chuckling to himself.

"I really need to stop falling in love with her."
