"Ugh! Just look at him, he stands there every day as if not every girl that passes by isn't gawking at him!" Your friend, f/n, whined as you both were sitting outside at a cafe across the street.
"Really, I see nothing extraordinary about this man." You heaved a sigh as she stared at him, resting her head on her hand as she did so, and you took a sip of your coffee, while shaking your head.
She was talking about the police officer, whatever his name was, who was stationed around this area. The only thing however, is that he had to stand in this one spot during the mornings, which lead to you spending your money at the cafe across the street on your days off. Honestly, you hated waking up so early but your friend was seriously into stalking him, you were pretty sure she even told you that she found out where he lived once, you couldn't remember.
"I don't know how you aren't fascinated by him, he's handsome, built, and a police officer!" She groaned in frustration as she didn't stop staring at him, while you looked over as well, as you saw some teenage girls pass by him, in their school uniforms as they giggled and blushed, making your stomach churn.
"Well you have a husband...and kids, remember?" You raised your eyebrow as you moved your gaze back to f/n, as she looked back at you, rolling her eyes.
"A girl can dream Y/n." She slouched back into her chair as she took a bite of her breakfast sandwich, before her eyes widened as if she had gotten an idea from taking a bite.
"Mph!" She spoke with food in her mouth as she shot forward towards you, in fact, you were surprised that she didn't head butt you.
"Swallow, then speak." You said in annoyance at your childish friend, even though you were younger and single compared to her.
"You should go talk to him!" She squealed as your eyes widened, as you leaned back, scoffing.
"I'm not doing that." You played it cool as you shook your head, finishing up your coffee. "I don't need that distraction right now." You huffed as she was still making a scene, even though people were going back to their own conversations again.
"But! You're twenty four Y/n! You need to get out there now!" She commanded you as you shook your head.
"F/n, I'm not—"
"Is there a problem here ladies?" You heard a male voice ask, as you turned your head to see the officer standing there on the other side of the iron picket fence.
"Yes! My friend here is—"
"No! Don't listen to her, she's delusional." You laughed nervously as you clamped a hand over her mouth, muffled words still coming out before you felt something slimy run across the palm of you hand.
"F/n! Did you seriously just lick me?!" You screeched as you made a disgusted face, while wiping it on the napkin, still feeling all the germs on your palm now.
"My friend here, is single! And I think you should take her out! Officer...erm....Matsouka!" Your friend grinned innocently at the man as he looked at her, then shifting his gaze over to you as you covered up your eyes, cheeks ablaze.
"I'm leaving!" You blurted out as you put a twenty on the table, enough to pay for both yours and her things along with tip money, as you went back inside the restaurant, since you couldn't leave without going back inside then leaving.
You came out the exit door as you could see your friend pouting, talking to the officer as he paid his full attention to her, as she seemed to be loving it.
"Ugh, trying to set me up with some stranger." You muttered underneath your breath as you stormed off, only looking at the ground as you did so, honestly pissed off.
You walked the ten minutes all the way back home, and was thankfully not chased by the officer, and you heaved a sigh of relief as you turned your key in the door, about to open it and go in as you heard running footsteps behind you, as you hurried inside.
"Go away! I don't want to go on a date!" You yelled as you pushed on the door, while the person was pushing from the other side as well.
"What are you talking about? I need your help." You heard Makoto's voice as you stopped pushing and stepped aside, which was probably a bad idea since he fell into your house, landing on the floor with a thud.
"Makoto! I'm so sorry! I thought you were someone else and—"
"It's okay, Y/n." Makoto grunted as he picked himself up off the ground, rubbing his side that he landed on. "I came to ask if you could help me find my cat, he ran off!" Makoto whined as a smile came to your face, you hadn't lived in Iwatobi long, but you definitely felt blessed that he was your neighbor.
"Of course I'll help Makoto!" You laughed lightheartedly as he nodded.
"I asked some of my friends to search too, I'll have you go with Rin though, since the others are already gone and I'm about to go searching with Gou." He sighed in relief as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"It's Kou!" You heard someone huff on the front porch, as you smiled. You didn't know Gou, or Kou, whatever her real name was very long. And you hadn't even heard of a guy named Rin.
"Rin is my brother Y/n," Kou started as if she had been reading your mind, or rather your facial expressions as she smiled kindly. "He took off of work to come help." She looked around as you saw somebody come up the sidewalk and onto the porch, he was wearing a black loose jacket, along with some black jeans, a violet shirt, and wearing some shades and a black cap. Honestly, he looked like he was about to rob or break into somebody's house, not like he was going to find a kitten.
"Well, off you go!" Makoto pushed you some as you shut your door, shoving your keys into your pocket as you realized that thankfully you had your phone, in case you had to call the police on this guy.
"Uh, so where should we look first?" You asked while fiddling with your hands, anxiety was a stupid bitch at times like this, while your heart was racing and you felt like you couldn't breathe.
"Any parks around here?" He pushed up his sunglasses as his hat moved a bit, which caused you to notice the maroon hair in a bun sticking out of the adjustable part in the back. Man buns were nice, very nice.
"Uh yeah, there's one that not too many people know about, it's about six city blocks away." You shrugged as you realized you had walked past his car, though it would be best to search on foot, so you could look more places.
"Do I know you from somewhere?" You asked as you gazed at him, trying to guess who he was at any angle of his face, except the fact that you only saw half of it either way. "You look familiar." You scrunched your eyebrows together in confusion as he took off his sunglasses, his expression unchanged.
"Well you might have turned me down this morning and ran away before I even got your name." He shrugged as he lowered his sunglasses, flashing you a grin as your heart skipped a beat.
Oh shit it was Officer Matsouka.
"Oh! Haha! That silly little thing? Whaaaaat you're still on that it was nothing!" You scoffed as you tried to play off your embarrassment, honestly it was too much for you to handle as you could feel the heat radiating from your cheeks.
Then suddenly Rin's phone went off as he answered it, nodding and replying with short answers before hanging up.
"Nagisa found Makoto's cat." He grunted as your eyes lit up.
"Really? It was such a nice time but I'm gonna head back now—"
"Oh no, my car is at your house, remember? You're stuck with me either way, and I'm totally taking you out sometime soon." He flashed you a smirk as your mouth gaped open in utter disbelief.
"O-Oh no really, I would rather not." You stammered, finding yourself tripping over your words as he chuckled.
"It's all right, you never know if you don't try, and hey, you're kinda cute." Rin shrugged with a faint blush on his cheeks now as well as you were pretty sure your face was like a tomato now.
"Okay, maybe one date, you're kinda hot too."
