He hadn't talked to anybody in days, not like it was his choice after all. All he could think about was you.

You invaded his thoughts like the water invaded the land, settled deep in the roots of some, as if planting yourself in his mind.

He sat, in the cold, empty bathtub. Not even joyful enough to fill it up, he wished for nothing and silence.

Brief memories of the two of you, what you shared, played on repeat in his mind. It wasn't like him, but he couldn't help it.

You were gone.

There was a drunk, delusional man on the streets as you were making your way home from his house, you were just walking past, but stopped you, pulled a gun out.

You didn't even have time to scream before the shot rang through the air, some pedestrians on the other side of the street screamed and ran over, some took down the drunk man as he had tried to escape his demons. They called the police, Haru was in a state of shock when the local police were at his door, telling him the news.

He hadn't been swimming since, it's funny, the things you take for granted when the person you really want is there.

He had always been a shy person, not ever wanting you to know just how much he loved you every second of the day, he was always like that.

"Oh come on Haruka!" You playfully nudged him as his cheeks flushed, as you grabbed his hand, entangling his fingers with yours.

He thought it was stupid at the time, to show public affection like this, even though you two had been dating for numerous months now.

"Y/n, I don't see what's so special about holding hands in public, but whatever makes you happy I guess." He mumbled as he looked away, trying to avoid any more embarrassment.

That wasn't the only thing he missed, your stubbornness was simply a beginning.

"Oh Haru, it's beautiful." You awed as you looked at the fireflies around the two of you, he had taken you out on the beach late at night, to have a candlelight picnic, what he didn't plan were the fireflies to surround the two of you, but you loved it nonetheless.

"I'm really glad you like it." He muttered, with a small smile on his face as he shrugged, trying to avoid to get anymore flustered than he already was.

"I....set this all up because I wanted to tell you something important tonight." He blurted out, which wasn't exactly uncommon for the boy as he fiddled with his hands. "I wanted to tell you that...that I love you." He fumbled with his words a bit as he desperately got them out.

You, being the hopeless romantic and sap you were, were crying as you hugged him, which honestly took him aback.

"I love you too!" You cried, sniffling as you sobbed into his shirt, honestly he was sure almost anything could make you cry.

He arose from the tub, grabbing the chillingly cool towel, and pat-drying himself before leaving the bathroom, and going into his room.

Surprisingly he got out of his swimwear, and changed into normal lazy-day clothes, before opening up a box where he put things your mother gave to him, since she said you'd probably want him to keep it instead.

He pulled out the dvd holder, in which you had recorded some of your favorite times together, and burned them onto dvd's, you were often creative like that.

He placed one into the disc player that was connected to the television in his room, as immediately, he knew he had chosen the right one.

It started out with your face on the screen staring into the camera, obviously confused. He remembered this day very well, it was the first day you wanted to record your memories with him.

"Oh darn, I don't think I'm doing this right." You sighed, gazing at the camera as it was facing you. "Does the glowing red light mean it's recording? I never read the instructions." You groaned, admitting to your mistake of not reading the instructions, though Haru knew you never did.

"Yes it does." He answered as you faced it away from yourself frantically, filming him.

"I bet it got such a bad angle of me oh geez." You complained, but were a giggling mess as he smiled. Haru shook his head, jokingly as he tried to hide the fact that he was showing some sort of emotion as he did so.

"You're hopeless." He stated stoically, as you agreed, facing the camera towards you and your smiling face.

"You heard it right here folks! I'm helpless!" You stated, laughing as Haru stuck his face into the lens as well, beside you, kissing your cheek with red cheeks.

"You're hopeless, but I guess I still love you." He murmured into your ear as he didn't know it at the time, but the camera caught you blushing as he said it, you turning his head to kiss him full on the lips.

"I love you too my free swimmer."

He thought at the time, that the recordings were stupid, but now they meant the world as the date kept on playing before his eyes.

He could recall it as if it were yesterday, though the date at the bottom said it was a year ago. The cherry blossoms were blooming, complimenting your features as well as your personality as he had taken you on that date, the picnic in the park with the cherry blossoms.

Your smiling face enhanced the screen once more as he watched it, a feeling of loss stirred within him.

But for now, he would forget his regret, and try to live like you always wanted him to;
