Put Tears On My Face
Khalif POV
"Daddy, where is mommy?" Nalani said.
"She went to get something. She'll be back soon." I said playing with her hair.
"Oh, I'm bored." she said pouting.
"Whatchu wanna do?"
"Can I play on your phone?" she said pulling my shirt.
"I don't have games on my phone."
"I can do your hair." she giggled a bit.
"You'd do that for me?" I said.
She nodded and picked up a hair tie off the table. She put my hair in a ponytail.
"Now, that will be a million dollars" she said sticking out her hand.
"Girl, you betta get out my face"
She stuck her tongue out and I mimicked her. She giggled and I smiled.
I cannot tell you how much Nalani means to me. Everytime I see her, my whole world just lights up.
Kali & Aaquil walked through the door with pizza.
"Mommy!" Nalani said hopping off my lap.
"Hey baby" she said.
"Pizza!" Nalani said sitting at the table. She took a slice out the box.
"You got us pizza?" I asked.
"I got us pizza." she said referring to her and Nalani.
Aaquil started laughing.
"Shut up" I said throwing the remote at him.
"Chill out, Swae" he said picking it up.
Kali laughed. "I was just kidding, but you can have some. I don't even feel like eating."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing"
"You sure?"
"Yeah, I just wanna lay down."
I twisted my lip. "Nalani wanted to do something with you."
"Why can't you do it with her?"
"Because I been with her all day and she's bored."
"Put on a movie, go hang with Aaquil, play with her, it's other things to do." she said walking upstairs.
I looked at her for a minute. "What's up with you?"
"I said nothing"
"Okay" I said picking Nalani up. "Lani, wanna watch a movie?"
She nodded since her mouth was full.
"Thank you" Kali whispered to me.
"Yeah" I said.
I carried her into Aaquil's room, since he has the DVD player in there. We opened the door and he was laying on the floor.
"Wassup?" he said.
"We came to watch a movie"
"What we watching?" he said sitting up.
"Shark Tale" Nalani said.
"We not watching that again" Aaquil said.
"Why not?" she pouted.
"Because we've watched that a thousand times. Let's watch E.T, Back To The Future, or A Nightmare On Elm Street." he said going through the movies that he had.
"She can't watch A Nightmare On Elm Street"
"It's not that scary" he said still digging.
I'mma start buying movies for myself, because all he got is old 80s movies.
"Nigga, put on Shark Tale!"
"No, nobody wanna watch that." He pulled a movie out. "We watching Jurassic Park."
I narrowed my eyes at him as he put the movie in.
"Why are we watching this?"
"It's better than Shark Tale"
"You think a bunch of old ass dinosaurs are better than an animated fish movie."
He started laughing. "Just watch it."
Kali POV
"Do you think you could come by for a photoshoot tomorrow?"
"I still didn't get my cast off"
"I know but you can still do a face shoot. You know get a few waist-up pics."
"Oh okay, cool. What time?"
"2:00"
"Yes ma'am"
I hung up and the doorbell rang. I sighed and called Khalif. He didn't answer. I guess I'll answer it myself. I went downstairs and opened it.
"Hello ma'am, I am Detective Richard Brooks. This is Tyla Parham."
"Okay, so now what?" I said.
"Khalif said he would like to press charges"
"Wait, he's pressing charges on me!" she said.
I smiled. "Yes, he is pressing charges on your crazy ass."
"I don't think I was talking to you"
I raised my eyebrows. "Detective Richard Brooks, I wanted to let you know that she has been stalking us, as well."
"That's a lie!" she said.
"It's not."
"Tyla, is this true or not?" he said looking at her.
"Why w-why would I do that?"
"Because you belong in a mental asylum" I let out. "She hit me with a car."
"Okay ma'am, tell Khalif I stopped by and we're on the verge of pressing charges." he informed me making her let out and angry sigh.
"Thank you"
