This was our big London show and we only had one more gig in England before we had to leave. The guys were pumped for the show and the big crowd, which was almost three times the amount that were at yesterdays show. At Rainey's show. But this was still going to be Rainey's show.
We had arrived earlier than we had thought and were sitting around playing super Mario bros for what seemed like hours but no one complained.
Devon and Lyss had been in and out, each time carrying new bags full of shit they bought and often Jesse and Brandon followed them.
"Guess we should look around." Jeremy said, sounding as if it was almost a question. "Go get food or something?"
"We could just eat some of the food I packed? The ones in the tubs." Mikey suggested.
"Fuck that, I refuse to eat your organic shit." Jeremy said. "Let's go find somewhere, quickly, before we have to eat that baby wank."
We all packed up our things and walked out the door, suddenly hitting the cold breeze and light rain. The weather here made the thought of living in England unbearable. It seemed like being away from the sun this much would make someone go insane. I guess I understand why Rainey wanted to live in America.
Rainey. I wonder where she was. How far she was, or whether she was already waiting... If she was coming.
I didn't even want to think about that. It seemed impossible for her not to be there but I've never seen her at any of the other shows. If it actually was impossible for her not to come to the shows then why wasn't she at the others before yesterday? There had been plenty of shows she could have of come to before this tour... Fuck.
I didn't want to think about it. I didn't want to even consider the thought of not seeing her again.
"We should go check if our stuff is in there first, and then we can look around." Mikey spoke, "And we should probably find the others..."
"Nah, they left us so we should just leave them to realise what they've done and rethink everything!" Jeremy said.
"What the fuck is with you today?" I asked him.
We were just entering the back door when I heard screaming. Fans.
"We're just going to get food but we'll do pictures after the show, okay?" I said to a couple of the girls and the backed away.
The fans spoke amongst themselves and I could hear them asking whether they should follow us to lunch. They all cheered at the plan and continued to ask us questions.
It wasn't a new thing for fans to follow us around but it was still weird to see the different people from the different sides of the world still have the same ideas. It was like they all came together somehow to find us, or something.
"Hey, we'll take pictures later. Give us an hour or so?" Mikey asked them nicely and a couple of the girls blushed but didn't stop.
We pushed through the little crowd and managed to get to the front, so we could start walking towards the food places, although there didn't seem to be any around. It was empty. Just roads and a gas station. And, of course, the stadium we were playing in.
The fans kept cheering and telling us where to go, which we did appreciate but not enough to want them follow us.
"Guys, please, one hour." Mikey pleaded.
"One hour." A voice spoke front the back and Rainey emerged from the little group of fans.
She stood still which a smile on her face. Her face was just the same as yesterday but somehow much brighter. She wore one of those British bobble hats, which was white and a black coat that she had buttoned up. Her legs were bare so I assumed she was wearing a skirt or dress.
It was weird not seeing her with her hair up high but I still couldn't really see it because the hat was pretty snug on her head.
"Hello." She gleamed.
"Rainey." I spoke, calmly.
She smiled at me.
Why did she have to smile at me.
"Hi." She laughed and turned to the guys, "You should probably go to lunch..."
They nodded at her and turned to me, "You coming, Zeeko?" Jeremy spoke.
"Yeah." Was all I could say.
"Rainey, is it?" Mikey spoke quietly to Rainey so none of the girls could here.
She nodded so lightly it was like she hadn't moved her head, but her eyes blinked as if she was confirming.
"Do you know any places around here that we could eat at?" He said subtly again.
"I'm not from around here but when I was walking this way, me and my friend passed a diner place up there?" She used her head to point, "But I have no idea if it's good or not."
"Well shit, guess we're eating the baby wank." Jeremy said under his breath.
"It's organic!" Mikey argued.
"Exactly, bro. Exactly."
Rainey turned to the girl next to her, who I remembered from last night. It was her friend and she had come with Rainey again. She had a hoodie on with the hood up because of the rain, and a denim jacket over the top, along with skinny jeans and vans.
"Wait, there's a food court about twenty five minutes away in the shopping centre.. Just follow the signs." Her friend said.
The guys agreed and we decided to go there, but I didn't want to leave Rainey.
"Come with us." I whispered.
"I can't, it will cause a fuss." Her English accent made everything sound more pronounced and formal.
"It won't." I said, almost too quietly.
"I can't just intrude!"
"You won't be, the guys are cool."
"Are you sure, Zach?"
As soon as my name left her lips, I felt weird.
"We're cool." Jeremy repeated my words because I was incapable to reply.
She turned to her friend and then looked at me and then Mikey and then to Jeremy and back to her friend. Her nail found her way to her lips and she bit the tip of her nail.
"Okay. You go now and we'll make a bathroom excuse and meet you by the entrance not long after you've arrived." She finally said.
a/n I can't tell if anyone is actually reading along with this... Please vote and leave comments, it would mean a hell of a lot! Anyway, if you are, I hope you are enjoying this poor excuse of a fanfic.. Much love, Bec x
