Our support acts took the stage and the crowd were louder than most of our previous shows, which was super cool. They both played around six songs each, whilst the guys and I walked in and out the side doors to watch. The sides were off stage but fans in the far corners could see us and would start cheering, causing a scene and it would make everyone roar.

Rainey sat on the stool on the same and watched the performances and Lucy stood beside her, bopping her head sideways to the music. Every now and then, they would look at each other and Rainey would move her shoulders, forward and backwards, to the rhythm and they would both start laughing.

Devon came in with cups and danced around with at least three in her hands. Jesse took one out of her hand and put his arms around her and they pushed their bodies together and moved in sync.

"You don't have to stay the whole time, there's a little room out there where Dev and Lyss normally stay." I spoke loudly over the music in Rainey's ear.

She shook her head, "I want to be here."

Her lips touched my skin and I shivered as the warmth of her breath tickled me.

The music stopped and the second act came off stage. The house lights raised.

Everyone back stage started piling on stage with our instruments, set lists, water bottles, towels and other shit.

The guys left the sides and went into the room and I dragged Rainey too.

Inside, everyone was in their little groups. Dev and Jesse were kissing, Lyss and Brandon were laughing at something, Brandon was on his phone, whilst Jer spoke to Luce. I stood with Rainey.

"Do you get nervous?" She asked.

"I don't know... I don't think so." I responded sort of truthfully. Tonight seemed much different from the other nights though.

"I'd be shitting bricks." She said.

"What the fuck." I raised one of my eyebrows.

"I hate English humour." She spoke, flaring her nose, like she was disgusted with something.

Her hair was now tied in a bun on the top of her head, with the stray hairs held up by those pin things. It was tightly pulled on her head and she looked like one of those front page models.

There was a piece of black ribbon around her neck and in a little knot at the back, which I kept touching between my fingers. She had told me that it was far better than buying a proper one because then she could use it for her hair too. I watched her lips as she spoke and I felt like I was slowly getting closer to them, but I forced myself to stop.

"What?" She said, noticing my eyes on her.

    "Nothing." I spoke in awe.

"Is it me?" She looked for her reflection quickly and full of worry.

"Yeah," I paused. "but it's a good thing."

There was a silence between us as we just looked at each other. It felt like there was nothing else I had on my mind to think about, but her eyes. They had taken everything out of me and left me with nothing but weakness.

"Guys! You're on!" This man shouted and we started walking to the stage.

Brandon was on first, playing his kit aggressively. Followed by Jeremy and then Mikey.

I turned to Rainey and smiled before coming onto the stage.

The lights flashed and the crowd screamed and jumped. The flashing was intense and got even more crazy for Jesse when he came on.

'Baby Came Home 2 /  Valentines' played and I glanced to Rainey, who had her arms around Lucy and was dancing dramatically and slow with her. They moved around and Luce lifted her arm and spun her. Dev wiggled her fingers and moved her arms like she was swimming towards them. She held Rainey and pulled her into a hug. They swayed together and then Devon let go of her and hugged Lucy. At this point, Rainey had turned to me with a huge smile on her face, she lifted one hand and waved at me so innocently.

Then everyone had gone to the other room but Rainey. She stood there, smiling and moving so subtly to the music. She didn't care that she was on her own, she just looked so graceful and flawless.

I wanted to stand with her and wrap my arms around her but I couldn't.

The instrumental part started and the lights flashed quickly and intense and all I could think of was Rainey.

It started to fade and the crowd went insane.

The girls wandered back in with more cups and they started cheering along with the fans.

Rainey got her phone out and started to take pictures of us on stage and the crowd. Devon spotted her and embraced her and Rainey took pictures of the two of them. She then whispered to Dev and walked to one of the stage guys and gave him her phone. She lightly ran back to the girls and took a picture with Lyss, Dev and Lucy, all huddled together.

She retrieved her phone and then took more pictures of the stage.

I wanted to see her at every single show. I wanted her to stand there every time and smile as much as she did. It was kind of distracting but I liked it because it made me play better.

I wanted her to always be there.
