"Time goes on, even when we do not."

~~~SHE found her red Lamborghini shimmering in the sunlight after school.
Scott released a low whistle as they neared the car and Cassie smiled, once again. It was weird. Today was the most amount of time she had smiled and it was all because of that good looking bad boy in front of her. So she quickly removed her faint smile.
"You got some hot car." He chuckled and trailed his finger over the metal, Cassie watched him fascinated by the way his eyes glimmered when he saw something interesting. It always seemed to glisten when he saw her.
"My Dad bought it a few weeks before we moved." Cassie said and sat on the front bumper, Scott watching the way she moved so intensely.
"I got a Ferrari at home." Scott replied, his eyes on her hips and moving up to her eyes.
"I love Ferraris." She whispered, his eyes locked onto her's and held an intense stare, almost daring him to come to her.
He subconsciously licked his lower lip and it immediately turned her on. Cassie hopped off the bumper as Scott walked closer to her. Her heart was beating rapidly and she began to feel nervous, something she doesn't like people seeing.
Her emotions were blank like a piece of clean white paper. She was unreadable and that's what fascinated Scott. He liked the way she would hide her smile from him. Something about her, made him want her. It was dangerous for him because it's been ages since he last let someone in. Cassie was afraid, she just met this guy today and he could already see through her so she made her walls higher and stronger.
But he had this aura around him, this aura that made her feel safe and warm. She hadn't felt as if she was at home in ages and the mere sight of him made her feel the warmth crawling up her skin. Maybe that's why she was afraid to let someone in, if he could do that within nearly a week of meeting him, imagine if she gave herself fully. That idea didn't settle well with Cassie, it fact it made her despise herself even more, as if that was possible. She shook her head and Scott frowned, wondering what's happening in that pretty little mind of hers.
Then she caught his eyes and sighed when she immediately got lost in them like being in a forest, green and earthy. Her sigh was soft like an angel, causing shivers up Scott's spine but he gave nothing away as tried to control his lust towards her, afraid to frighten her since she was still weary around him but when she sighed, her hazel eyes softened at the sight of him and it lifted the sides of his lips up only by a little bit.
"I need to get home but I'll call you. I wrote my number in your maths notebook." Cassie winked at him and he chuckled.
She didn't let a smile slip into her lips instead she turned away from him, her shoulder brushing against his, which sent sparks shooting through her body, as she walked over to car. He watched her intensely like he was waiting for her to disappear.
"I'll catch you later." Cassie said as she opened the door and slipped into car. Scott winked and grinned at her before walking over to his car, where Avery and Lewis were waiting for him.
She watched them laugh and closed her eyes, feeling the tears hold up again. She needs to be stronger, she told herself, she can't let anyone in.
Not anymore.
At home it was quiet. Not a single sound slipping into Cassie's ear. She sighed in distress and collapsed onto the couch, hear head aching with thoughts and feelings. She didn't like any of this, it had felt foreign in her body because its been 3 years since the last time she felt like this and that resulted into having her heart broken and betrayed.
She was just a player in a game, in both games in fact. Cassandra didn't even know who he was however she couldn't deny the small attraction she felt towards him. Maybe because he was good looking or funny or sweet or-
She shook her head and stopped thinking about all his good qualities and began listing his bad because it might change how she was feeling towards him. He was a player, a jerk, someone who messed with a girl's feeling. Someone she had to stay away from.
Cassie reluctantly stood up and marched up to her room, thoughts about Scott swimming around in her mind. Scott. Scott. Scott.
"Fuck." She cursed and ran her fingers through her brown hair in frustration as she flung her bag onto the couch and say on her bed.
Suddenly her phone rang and she jumped up in fright from the sudden sound. Scrambling from her bed, she stumbled over to her couch, where her bag laid, and pulled out her phone. The ring tone echoed around the room as Cassie hastily picked up the phone.
"Hello," she panted.
A deep chuckled escaped from the person on the other side of the phone. "Missed me that much?" He chuckled.
"Shut up. I was thinking and you frightened me." She scoffed.
"Thinking about me?" He teased and she blushed.
"Not at all." She mumbled and he laughed.
"Alright, Cass. Believe what you what to."
"Shut up." She scowled and heard him chuckled again, her lips curving up slightly before falling again. "What do you want?"
"To see if you were free. I wanna hang out." Scott replied and Cassie felt a rush of emotions hit her.
"Already? It's been like 30 minutes since I last saw you. Miss me much?" Cassie teased.
"Cass." He warned and she laughed, quietly to herself, because she loved the way he said her name, so sexy and delicious.
"You know that cave near the beach?"
"Uh huh."
"Meet me there."
"See you soon, Cass." He hung up and she giggled in happiness.
Abruptly she stopped.
This was no way to behave, she told herself. You'll get hurt again if you act like this.
However not matter how much she wanted to contain the happiness, a smile slipped onto her lips as she began to make her way to the beach. A small, traitorous part of her hoping that this time it will be different.
