"Now I'm sainted by you,
Like a coffee ring upon this table.
I'm unstable."
-Stained, Selena Gomez
~~~Many days after her birthday, Cassie and Anastasia organised a meeting so they could figure what the hell happened three years ago. They planned on meeting at Anastasia's house because it's less likely for anyone to see them together.
Cassie had drove up into the silent neighbour hood, not even phased when a couple of guys scrutinised her as she closed her car door and made her way to Ana's house. She was wearing jeans that hugged her waist and emphasised her ass shape with a black crop top that was also a hoodie, her scars on her hips peaking slightly but that didn't matter to her. Scott had made her feel beautiful when he saw it and it was all the acceptance she needed.
Lifting her shades onto her head, she knocked on the front door twice before Anastasia opened it with a scowl.
"And good morning to you." Cassie said sarcastically as she entered the house, not waiting for Anastasia's greeting.
"I just woke up. Didn't think you'd be here early." Ana said with a yawn, trudging into the kitchen. Cassie followed after her, checking out her surroundings.
"I'm always on time." She replied curtly.
"Tea or coffee?"
"Coffee." Cassie took a seat at the table while Anastasia made coffee for her and herself. "Celia's having family problems."
Ana raised a brow at that, glancing at Cassie over her shoulder. "Really? Any ideas why?"
"Isaac blurted out that it has to do with the baby." She thanked Ana when the girl handed her a chipped mug filled with steamy hot black coffee. Ana sat opposite her and frowned.
"How does he know?" She asked. "To him, the baby was aborted."
"Exactly." Cassie agreed. "Something doesn't add up."
"Let's go over what we know," Ana suggested. "We know Isaac slept with Celia, who got pregnant and in January left school so that she could avoid press. She gave birth in July and didn't come home until September."
"Isaac had no clue. He left before she could tell him that she's keeping the child. He thought she aborted it." Cassie added in to which Anastasia nodded at.
"Exactly," She got up from her seat and left the room. Two minutes later, she came back with her laptop and files. Handing the files to Cassie, she turned her laptop on while Cassie flicked through the files.
"Remember my sources, well I gathered new info."
Cassie frowned. "Like what?"
"I wanted to discuss that with you. I haven't gone through them yet." She tilted her head towards the files in Cassie's manicured hand. "What does it say?"
Cassie placed the other two to the side and opened the first file. "This one just shows Celia's credit card details from three years ago during that seven month time period."
Glancing at Ana, who was typing on the laptop, she frowned a little. "Who are your sources?"
Ana stopped mid way and glancing up at Cassie with mischief in her eyes. "That you don't need to know. All you need to know is that they are 100% reliable."
