I woke up to screaming at the crack of dawn. I sat bolt up and ran towards the sound, grabbing my wand and turning it into a sword.
My vision was blurred, my mind clouded. Having no idea what was going on, I stopped. My eyes fully opened and I saw a bloody battle that would have made any ordinary person scream.
I charged at the beast before me, a giant red monster with black ooze running from it's mouth. Its snake tongue flicked out between its razor sharp teeth, making me shutter. The black ram's horns gave it a devilish look.
Without thinking, I charged at it. My blood ran cold as I touched his sticky body and climbed his 10 foot body. I stabbed into his shoulder. He roared in pain, growling and shaking about, trying to throw me off. I fell to the ground, slamming my body into the gravel. I felt my T-shirt getting warm with blood, but I stood up anyway.
I watched as the creature scooped up Bella, lifting her to his mouth. Before thinking, I screamed out of anger, sadness, and pure love.
"DON'T. YOU. DARE!" I screamed, running towards the beast. It tried to smack me away, but I dove under its hand and stabbed at its leg. It fell to the ground, and I took the advantage. Stabbing him in his back, I watched as he disintegrated into dust.
"Holy crap... What just happened?" I heard Tyson say next to me.
"Apparently we encountered our first monster." I blew my bangs out of my face and went over to Bella, who had been thrown onto the ground.
All of us looked bruised, bloody, and scratched up.
"Violet, you should get some rest. Your entire back side is covered in blood, and so are your arms. We'll take care of Bella," Alex tried to persuade me.
I didn't respond, I only picked up Bella's body and took her to her sleeping bag. She was still conscious, thankfully, so I took my back pack and emptied some first aid things. I had four rolls of gauze, and pulled off Bella's shirt. I wrapped the gauze around her scratches and cuts, then got her a new shirt that ya know, wasn't soaked in blood. She laid down and fell asleep, and I moved on to Tyson, who was almost as bad. I cleaned his wounds, wrapping them in another roll of gauze. Luckily, I remembered all of the things I learned from summer camp. I did the same to Alex and Jasper, and changed my own shirt. My scratches had stopped bleeding, so I was alright. Except for walking with a limp.
I grabbed two sticks and some rags, putting the sticks on the front and back of my lower leg, then wrapping the rags around it. I stood up and felt pain travel up my leg, but I ignored it.
I'll be okay, it's just sprained.
