By sunset

As the sun started to approach the horizon, I wandered the woods around where we had set up camp.

What type of food can I find in a forest?

Picking some berries, I used the skills I learned from summer camp to distinguish poisonous berries from good ones. I picked blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries and put them in a large bowl I had brought just for that reason.

I found a creek and filled a canteen with water, bringing it back to the tent.

Looking at the silver stick I had found the day before, curiosity got the best of me. I took it in my hand and waved it around. Nothing.

"This would be a lot more useful if it were a sword or something," I mumbled. As I said that, the wand began to glow and change. I watched as it morphed into a silver sword with a bronze grip. An emerald stone decorated the pommel and I gasped, wondering what else it could do.

Bow and arrow, I thought.

The sword changed again, becoming a silver bow with an arrow made of obsidian, it's tip a glowing green.

"Whoa," I whispered. "I need to tell the others when they wake up."

Pretty soon we were all awake and nibbled away at the berries I had gotten, which were sweet and ripe, luckily.

"Guys," I mumbled.

They looked up at me, Tyson with berry juice dripping down his chin. I held back a giggle.

"These sticks aren't just sticks." I pulled mine out, thinking of a random weapon. A dagger. Immediately, the wand shifted into a silver dagger with an emerald on the shaft.

My friends gasped, staring in awe. Tyson was the first to regain his senses, and grabbed the one with the amber-eyed wolf.

"I wonder what else it can do." he thought for a moment before pointing it to a backpack on the ground. "Levitate." as if on cue, the bag started levitating, his wand directing where it went.

As he set it down, it felt as if my eyes were deceiving me.

Is this all a dream?

I didn't think so. We all practiced using them until it reached about twelve pm. Pulling our things together, we trudged on, not knowing where we were going, only following our gut.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked Tyson, who seemed tired and fearful.

"Yeah, just a little sleepy," he replied.

"You wanna set camp for the night?" it was getting late, and I knew we should keep going, but I didn't want Tyson to overwork himself.

He shook his head. "A few more miles, I'll be okay."

I nodded and gave him my canteen to drink from. "I don't need it, you seem sick. Have some."

He gladly took a few sips and handed it back to me.

Tyson, Alex, and Bella fell asleep as soon as we set up camp, leaving Jasper and I alone.

This should be interesting.
