I turned, looking at Lupa, the Gentle Wolf.
"You have succeeded," she smiled down at us, her brothers appearing on either side of her.
"You done good." Fenrir said, his voice seeming a bit more kinda than the first time we'd talked to him."
"Congratulations, children. Welcome to the family." said Conri, standing as proud as ever.
"W-what do you mean 'the family'?" Alex asked.
Anubis piped up, seeming less gloomy. "Oh, you didn't know? We didn't tell you?"
"Tell us what?" Tyson asked. That was the first time I'd heard him talk inin long time.
"You are now the Wolves, my darlings," Lupa grinned, her eyes full of cheer.
"W-what?" Jasper yelped.
Conri piped up again. "Jasper Anderson! I pronounce you Wise Wolf of the North!"
Gold light swirled around Jasper, making me shield my eyes for a moment. When it was safe to open them again, she stood there in a gold dress with winged sleeves and a green Celtic belt draping down the front.
Fenrir growled. "I pronounce Tyson Gore to be the Fierce Wolf of the West!"
Red light enveloped Tyson, and when he was revealed, he wore a red robe with bronze trim.
"W-what is going on?" Alex whimpered.
Anubis sighed. "Alex Bendrin, Noble Wolf of the East."
Darkness surrounded Alex, and when the black mist evaporated, she stood in a long black dress with a leather belt around her waist.
I heard Bella yelp next to me.
Lupa turned to her, smiling politely. "Bella Cyr, Gentle Wolf of the south."
White mist swirled around her, keeping her from my view. As mist retreated, she wore an ivory dress and a belt made of sapphire gems.
The Elder Wolves turned to me.
"And you, Violet Agostinelli.. We now claim you to be the Queen of the Wolves!" they said in unison.
Gray mist surrounded me, making me choke. I closed my eyes, thinking for a moment that I might die. Then the smoke faded.
I stood in a silver dress with a belt of purple silk. Upon my head was a laurel wreath the same color as my dress, encrusted with amethyst gems.
"Queen of the Wolves?" I asked nervously.
Lupa nodded "You defeated death and made many noble choices along this journey. You rule now. We are mere mortals."
As if on cue, all five of us grew to about ten feet tall, while the ex wolves each shrunk to about six feet.
"Good luck, New Wolves. We will get used to our human lives. I bid you all farewell," Conri said, grinning as he turned and walked out, followed by his siblings.
"Well... What now?" I heard Jasper ask next to me, still seeming a bit in shock.
"Well... I assume that we're supposed to keep the world from falling apart," I smiled at my friends. "And it seems as though we'll be doing it together."
Bella smirked. "Oh, great, I have to spend eternity with you." she added sarcastically.
"Oh, shut up and kiss me, dork." I laughed, pulling her against me. Her skin glowed, a new confidence taking over her. She was no longer a scared little girl. She was a beautiful woman. My beautiful woman. And looking around, I realized that I had changed too.
I no longer needed a false sense of confidence to hide the fact I was hurting. Because now I'm out of a toxic household. I knew my brother would be proud of me.
Hell, I was proud of me, too...
