As the snow raged on that night, I made sure Bella didn't freeze. She squirmed and whimpered occasionally, and I always calmed her. According to my friends, I had a really nice singing voice.

I didn't think so, but I'd sing to her anyway. She was so cute; like an elf or a faerie. So delicate and whimsical, yet strong and powerful.

As we walked along, I hummed a Halsey song.

I'm headed straight for the castle
They wanna make me their queen
And there's an old man sitting
On the throne that's saying
That I probably shouldn't be so mean
I'm headed straight for the castle
They got the kingdom locked up
And there's an old man sitting
On the throne that's saying
I should probably keep
My pretty mouth shut...
Straight for the castle

Brandon's eyes wandered to me. "You have a beautiful voice." he smiled, his blue eyes flashing in the moonlight.

"Thanks," I mumbled. I still didn't trust him much, even if he did swear he wouldn't hurt us. He seemed nice, but so do geese before you actually get close to them.

He seemed to sense my distrust. "Listen, I know you and I have a but of a rocky past, but I swear on my life that I won't try to hurt you."

"Okay... But questions still linger," I stared at him, a curious look on my face.

"Which are?"

"You said nymphs can't die.. So you're just... Immortal?"

He hesitated. "Well... That wasn't necessarily true. Nymphs can die, but only in combat. Like... In a war or something."

"Alright... Next question. Can we die?" my voice faltered, shaking a bit.

"Well... Yes, you can, but it's more than likely that you won't. You see... The Gift of the Pack gives you many abilities that you have not yet discovered. They'll probably come into play when you need them most. You all have very high pain tolerances, and you heal quickly."

I nodded, a bit relieved at his reply. We could probably survive. We wouldn't necessarily die.

But what if we do?
