I shivered. Snow was falling heavily, making me whimper every time the wind blew. Alex loaned my some of the things she brought. Gloves, a scarf, and a heavier jacket. I was wearing my beanie, hoping it would keep my ears from freezing off.
Well this day is going perfect.
Bella and I walked hand in hand, occasionally squeezing when it got too cold. Alex walked next to us, Jasper and Tyson leading.
"Where now?" Alex asked when we came to a fork in the path.
"Left," Jasper murmured.
"Right," Tyson countered.
"No, I'm sure it's left. Left is towards Alaska."
"It's right! Right is towards Alaska! How can you tell if you don't have a compass?" Tyson growled, morphing into a rust colored wolf.
Jasper became a silver wolf and barked at Tyson. We'd never be able to stop them like this.
Alex morphed into a brown wolf, while Bella was black and I was white, as usual.
As Tyson and Jasper snapped and growled, Alex, Bella and I howled loudly. Their ears went back and they sat next to each other, not daring to make a peep.
We all went back to our human forms.
"You're both acting like children," I glowered. "We go left, the wind is blowing north to south."We headed left, not willing to stop that night since it was so cold. My hands were numb, my eyes watering. I decided to just focus on Bella, who looked as beautiful as ever.
The moonlight bounced off her skin and illuminated her eyes, making them look electric.
"You tired?" I asked, noticing her yawn. She nodded and rubbed her arms.
Scooping her up, I held her small body in my arms, allowing her to fall asleep. She had to be about seven inches shorter than me, my stature being 5'8". I readjusted my arm so that her head wouldn't fall back. She looked so sweet and calm, it was almost like we weren't going to die.
I heard a rustle come from behind me, and turned to see an overly friendly face.
Brandon.
"What the hell do you want, tree boy?" I snapped, ready for a fight.
Her raised his arms in surrender. "I've come to make a peace offering. I'm sorry for what I did, and I'd like to join your team."
"What can you contribute?" Jasper growled, her gray eyes glowing.
"This," Brandon raised his arms as if he were summoning something, which he was. Vines sprouted from the ground and wrapped around a tree, engulfing it in thorns.
"Fair enough, but how can we trust you?" Alex lowered her head, glaring intensely. "Swear on the Pack that you won't try to harm any of us."
He raised his left hand. "I swear on the Pack that I won't harm you, Jasper, Tyson, Bella, or Violet."
"Fine," Jasper, Tyson, Alex and I growled in unison.
Looks like we have a helping hand... But can we trust him?
