The pair began frantically shuffling around the kitchen, trying to hide the powder milk and any strange thing that shouldn't belong in a bachelor's house. Jimin grabbed the baby bottle and shoved it in Nari's hand.

"Take this and the baby to your apartment and I will distract my mother."

Nari had no choice but to accept the bottle and let him drag her out of the kitchen. He lightly shoved her to the left, towards his bedroom whilst he went to the opposite direction.

Carefully she tiptoed towards the sleeping baby, mentally praying that he wouldn't suddenly wake up and cry. She put the bottle in her pyjama pocket and stretched out her hands towards the baby. After she successfully held the baby in her arms, she quickly dashed out of the room and through the hallway.

Whilst Nari passed the sitting room that the mother and son were in, she recognised her as the woman in the red coat that she had bumped into in the convenience store. But she had no time to ponder as she slipped out of the house to make her way into her own.

"Listen son, I'm pleading you to come back to work in the company," said his mother as she sat down on the sofa.

"You know what my answer is."

The older woman closed her eyes and let out a hopeless sigh. She knew fully well what his answer would be because it was always the same but she wasn't going to give up. She had been trying to convince her son to come back to work for the last three months since he had left. She was still far from succeeding due to the young man's rebellious nature.

"Why do you and your father have to be so similar?" she thought out loud to herself.

It was a question she always thought about. The two men in her household shared an almost identical personality, yet they terribly disliked one another. It was something they always denied but there was no lying that it indeed was a fact that they pretty much had the same genetics.

"Dad was the one who told me to leave and never come back. I'm being the good son by granting his wish."

"He speaks rubbish when he is angry, you know that. And since when did you start listening to your parents?"

"Look mum. I'm perfectly happy working in Hoseok's place so just let me be."

His mother held his hand between her two palms and gave him a light squeeze.

"Why would you limit yourself to being just a barista when you could be achieving great things in the company?"

Jimin pulled away his hand and ruffled his orange hair with frustration. He disliked always being pressured by everyone to become a successful businessman like his father and his older sister. He had been groomed to work in the company ever since he was in high school and he did not like it one bit. That is when his rebellious image really started to be nurtured.

The young guy had been spoon-fed to be a certain type of person that now he actually had no sense of self. He didn't know where his passions lied or what to even do with his life as a matter of fact.

"I'm sure you didn't come all the way here to persuade me. And what's with that suitcase?"

His mother suddenly brightened up when he mentioned her suitcase, as if she had completely forgotten about it.

"Your father was being such an old fart; he is giving me a headache so I'm staying with you here over the weekend."

She gave him a huge smile which he did not return. He simply blinked at her, having not taken in what she had just said. This was certainly new to him. Never had his mother ever stayed at his house and he couldn't imagine it either because it just didn't work with his lifestyle.

"Why can't you stay at noona's house? I don't have any maids here to look after you."

"She has gone to China for some business. I don't need anyone to look after me, I'm actually still young and pretty fit."

She proceeded to rotate her shoulders and swing her arms in the air to prove what she had said. Jimin let out a chuckle and gently put her arms down to either side of her. But on the back of his mind, he worried about how he would manage to hide the baby from his mother. If she was to find out, his father would definitely learn about it too because there was no stopping his mother's loud mouth.

He knew he had no other choice but to convince his neighbour to look after the baby. He feared she would reject the help because she was already pretty reluctant with being involved in the situation. But he knew that the baby was much safer in her hands instead of Hoseok's, which was his second option.

During this whole time he had been daydreaming, his mother had already wondered off down his hallway.

"Jimin, why does your room smell like baby?"

He quickly rose from the sofa and went to find her. He put his arms around his mother's shoulders and steered her away from his room, whilst he closed the door with his other hand.

"I have no idea what you are talking about! Lets go to the kitchen and I will make you a cup of tea."

He guided her to the kitchen and sat her down on a bar chair. He circled around the island and proceeded to search through his cupboard for some instant tea.

"What is this?" she questioned.

She swiped her index finger on the little bit of powdered milk that Nari had spilled on the counter earlier. Before she could raise it towards her nose to smell it, Jimin hastily wiped her finger and the counter with a wet cloth.

"Is this some sort of drug? Cocaine?!" she exclaimed, "I did not raise you to be like this young man!"

Jimin opened his mouth but closed it again when no words came out, due to him being flustered so much.

"MUM! I'm not like that. It's just...Just icing sugar from yesterday when Hoseok was baking a cake for a girl."

Jimin mentally applauded himself for thinking so fast but his mother didn't seem convinced. She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow as she leaned on the kitchen counter.

"Why would Hoseok bake here?"

Jimin licked his lower lip, which was something he always did when he was nervous.

"Because she lives next-door. The girl he is with is my neighbour. He wanted it freshly baked for her."

Just a white lie.

He mentally prayed that this lie wouldn't further escalate and bite his ass in the near future. Surely it wouldn't turn into such a big deal. Well, at least that's what he hoped.
