The sight of him was a complete mess. His hair looked as if he hadn't combed it in days and the dark circles under his eyes told me clearly how he wasn't doing well at all.
But his weak and tired condition didn't stop me from fuming with anger. I was about to open my mouth to shout at him, but he beat me to it.
"I couldn't risk using my address. Especially when almost everyone knows who I am and who my family is. Even though your dad is well known, at least you aren't. That is why I used your address."
Even after his explanation, I still wanted to shout at him but what he said was the truth which only annoyed me even more. After mentally debating with myself, I let out a frustrated sigh and stepped aside to let him in.
"Just take away these boxes and if you bother me one more time, I will end your life."
His face brightened up and he beamed at me, which I returned with a glare. He ran inside, towards the boxes.
I followed him and slumped on the sofa, watching him take away the boxes one by one. I started to grow even more frustrated with how slowly he was taking them away. I didn't want to help him. I really didn't. But for the sake of getting him out of my apartment, I decided to give him a hand.
I grabbed the box with diapers and headed for his apartment.
"Aww, thanks!" he smiled at me, before following me.
I ignored him as I made my way to his front room, where all of the boxes were. I instantly froze at the sight of Hoseok holding Jun. This caused Jimin to bump his box into me, causing me to stumble forwards. Hoseok looked up from the baby, to see me trying to steady myself from falling.
"Nari, are you alright? Geez, Jimin you have to be careful."
I blushed harder as I continued to look down at the floor, not wanting to meet his eyes. Jimin began taking out the things and examined them. I glanced up a little to see Hoseok.
He was cradling the baby and feeding him his milk. He looked so angelic and innocent, smiling down at Jun. You could say I was mesmerised at the beautiful sight of him acting so fatherly.
"Try to make your admiration a little less obvious," whispered Jimin.
I quickly turned my head to frown at him. How did he know?
"It's painfully obvious that you like- "
Before he could even finish the sentence, I dragged him by the wrist to his hallway. Despite me only coming up to his shoulder, I gathered whatever strength I had to pin him against the wall.
"Don't you dare," I spat out, jaws tightly clenched.
Jimin chuckled, looking down at me, clearly finding the sight of me acting intimidating pathetic. But suddenly his eyes widened as he gasped loudly.
"Let's make a deal."
"No," I quickly replied, without even a second thought. Unfortunately, he continued talking as if he hadn't heard me decline his offer.
"If you continue to help me, I won't say a word to my friend," he said, smirking at me, acting as if he had just won.
"I'm not helping."
"Alright then. I'm going to tell him how much you like- "
He tried to get out of my grasp, but I only pressed him harder against the wall.
"You should know that I am a lawyer and I'm not afraid to sue you."
He let out a chuckle but then sighed. The smirk on his face loosened as he looked straight into my eyes.
"Since you are someone who comes from a rich and powerful background just like me, you should know perfectly well how corrupt our law can get. Our powerful status can't easily be destroyed."
I looked away from him, my face growing hotter from anger. His words felt like bricks being dropped on my head. I hated to admit but I knew very well that everything he said was true. That was the main reason why I wanted to be a lawyer in the first place. I wanted to change the corrupt ways of our country.
"Fine then. Alright."
I looked back up at him and for a second I thought that he looked sorry, but the expression was quickly replaced by a smirk.
"Aright you two quickly finish your drama scene and help me out here. Jun just pooped."
Hoseok looked so helpless and lost, pinching his nose with one hand. He looked at us and then back at the baby in his arm. Jimin broke free from my grasp and awkwardly coughed.
And before he could say anything to me, I quickly ran out.
That night, as I was about to go to bed, my phone vibrated with constant messages. Turned out Jimin had gained my number through Hoseok and was telling me the plan for tomorrow.
He was going to go back to work and wanted me to look after Jun for the day. Lucky for him, I had no work tomorrow AND I literally had no friends. This meant that I had nothing social planned and the only friend I had was going to be at work tomorrow.
Within just a week, he had turned into a baby expert due to the constant parenting tips he was messaging me. Not wanting to talk to him anymore, I switched off my phone.
That was how I was really dragged into his world. I had committed my second biggest mistake after liking Hoseok and that was helping Jimin. If only I hadn't liked his friend, maybe I wouldn't have to be in this situation.
I told my brain to shut up and forced myself to sleep, regretting what was to come in the following day.
