"Table for four?" The middle aged woman asked. We all walked into Applebee's after school. Mae never told me what she wanted to say after school when she tackled me because Colton came over and interrupted her before she was able to speak. So now I'm left with a curious imagination that is eating me alive, along with my stomach.

"Yes." I answered as she pulled out four menu's from the podium before motioning us to follow her. She sat us down in a corner booth, me next to Mae and Shawn across from me.

"I'm gonna eat the whole restaurant." Colton, who was sitting next to Shawn said.

"You say that all the time, and you'll order the whole restaurant and only eat half of it, making us take home your leftovers and having you eat them in the car." I said, folding my arms across my chest giving him a glare. Colton just sat there with an amused look on his face.

"Exactly." He said, pointing at me causing Mae to laugh.

"So," Mae said, directing her attention towards Shawn. "Who's this girl you have a crush on?" She said, her eyes narrow. Shawn chocked on his lemonade that he ordered before gulping.

"Like I'm gonna tell you guys." He said, wiping off his mouth.

"Come on, Shawn. Tell us." She said, leaning in closer. Shawn leaned back in his seat before looking back and forth between everyone.

"You guys don't even know her." He mumbled before the waitress came back to get our orders.

"Okay," Colton started. Dear Jesus. "I'll have the steak with a baked potato, fries, a side salad. Can we also have cheese sticks and hot wings as an appetizer?" He said and I just blankly stared at him.

"Baked potato and fries??" I said and he just looked at me.

"So, is that a problem?" He said and I rolled my eyes. The waitress chuckled lightly.

The rest of us ordered and began eating our delicious food. We all started talking about our plans Friday night.

"I think we should have a party." Colton said in a matter-o-factly way.

"No, we just had one." I said, leaning back in the chair, resting my hands on my stomach from all the food I ate.

"How about a little get together?" Mae said.

"What do you mean 'get together'?" I said, looking her in the eyes. When it comes to Mae, nothing is ever little. It's always extreme or way over the top. Last year for my birthday, I told her I wanted it to be just us, meaning her and my family-but no. That wasn't good enough for her. So I spent my seventeenth birthday at Sky zone for six hours, followed by everyone meeting at Greaters for ice cream after. Everyone got me presents which I hated because it's more work for them. Don't get me wrong I love presents but not when they aren't necessary.

"I'm talking about you, me, Shawn, Colton, and some people from school." She said shrugging.

"How many people from school." I said.

"Colton, invite some boys from the football team." She said looking at him with her 'don't say no to me look.'

"My god so thirsty." He mumbled causing Shawn to spit out some of his drink.
