The cool air hit my face as we walked in towards the front desk of the ice skating rink. Shawn went to the front and spoke to the man behind the counter, handing him his card in exchange for a pair of skates. He then handed me my pair before we headed to the stands to put them on. Shawn had placed his cute little hat on his head before sitting down on the stands. Damn, he's cute.

There weren't that many people in here, thankfully. There was a small group of little girls that looked to be maybe twelve or so, an older couple holding hands as they skated, and an adorable family with two kids that looked no older than six or seven. It was peaceful.
"This is going to be so much fun." Shawn smirked to himself, bringing me out of my thoughts as he began to fiddle with the laces of his skates. Those hands...
"Whatever you say Mendes." I smirked in reply, only focusing on my skates so I don't have to see the smug look on his face. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see him staring at me. Shit. Do I have something on my face? Suddenly I became incredibly self conscious as my cheeks heated up dramatically.
Shawn stood up, taking off his grey sweatshirt only to have another one underneath. As he did so, his shirt rose slightly, causing a small portion of his abs to show. My eyes widened instantly as I looked down at my skates, smiling to myself briefly. Once again my face heated up as I tried to act like I wasn't just staring at him. Come on Ads, it's just Shawn.
Shawn stood in front of me, bending down to my eye level. I still had my focus on my shoes because I know that if I look at him in the eyes, I'll probably pass out.
"You know, Ads," He began, bringing my attention to him now. His face looked calm yet cocky at the same time. As he bent down to my eye level, some of his loose curls fell loosely on his forehead. "Every time you blush, I notice." He whispered the last part, running his hands through his hair, straightening it up.  By now I'm pretty sure that my face was as red as a tomato, and he definitely noticed. Shit, way to keep cool.
After I finished tying my shoes, pretending like Shawn didn't have this affect on me, Shawn grabbed both of my hands, helping steady me so I don't fall. My small, fragile hands fit almost perfectly in his large, rough ones.
Is this a date? I mean, I don't even know what we are. Sure, we made out a couple of days ago but, that's it. And I can't ask because that'd make things so awkward. Or, what if it was all nothing to him? Of course it's not Ads. Like he doesn't even c-
"Ads?" He questioned, grabbing my shoulders to get my attention, not realizing how deep in thought I really was. His grip on my shoulders was strong, but it felt good.
"Yeah? Sorry." He only smiled, looking back and forth between my eyes.
"Did you even hear what I asked you?" Shawn said, slight cocky-ness on his face. My hands felt clammy as he looked in my eyes for an answer that I didn't have.
"Sorry, no. What did you ask?" He only smirked. But this wasn't his normal smirk, this was one of those smirks that was more to himself than to me. As if a thought had entered his mind. It made me feel uneasy yet slightly excited at the same time. What was he thinking?
"You'll find out later." He whispered, stepping in front of me out onto the rink. I couldn't help but look at how nice his legs looked in his black skinny jeans. They shaped his legs perfectly.
I stood there, staring at how well balanced he was on those skates. As if they were normal shoes. How does he make it look so easy?

"Well come on!" He said, motioning his hands towards me. Slowly but I firmly gripped my hands on the railing next to me, walking out towards Shawn. A small chuckle escaped his lips at how cautious I was being but I didn't care. It was cute.
"Shit, Ads this place is going to be closed by the time you-"
"Shut up Shawn." I cut him off, finally reaching the edge of the carpet. Carefully, I put my first skate on the ice, followed by the second and- I didn't fall. But then again, I wasn't moving. I already know all hell is going to break loose when I attempt to move.
"See not so bad." Shawn spoke, shrugging his shoulders as if this was easy. I looked up towards him and smiled at how stupid yet cute he looked with that hat on his head.
"I can't move Shawn." I said, adverting me eyes towards his caramel brown ones before looking back towards my skates.
"That's why I'm here darling." Darling? I thought he only used that word in his songs. My breathing quickened as he skated behind me, his cologne following him. He was so close. So close.
"Okay, "He began, placing his hands on my hips. My breath hitched in my throat and I prayed that he didn't notice. He gripped lightly on my hips, ducking his head lower so he could talk in my ear.  "Remember when we were younger, and You, Colton, and I would push each other and try to slide around on the ice in your driveway?" The memory felt as if it was yesterday.
"I said I was going first!" Colton said, pouting as he crossed his hands across his chest, his fluffy black hat covering his eyebrows slightly. School was cancelled today because of how icy it was out. A thick layer of ice covered our black top driveway.
"I invented the game so- ha!" Shawn said, sticking his tongue at Colton as he returned the favor. Shawn then turned to me, his twelve year old body towering over my nine year old one. Small snowflakes began to cascade lightly down before falling on top of my pink and purple mittens.
"Could you push me, Adeline? You know, since your brother is a moron." He said, a small smile on his face. I managed to mumble a small 'sure' before walking towards him. Back then, I had the biggest crush on Shawn. I don't know if it was because he was three years older than me or if it was because everyone of my friends would not stop obsessing over the fact that I was friends with a 'sixth grader', but I could not get him out of my mind.
I lightly placed my small hands on his back, unaware at the time that his back felt hard because of his muscles.
With as much might as I could manage, I pushed him down the gentle decline that is our driveway. He stumbled a bit as he started out but regained his balance before continuing down the drive way. He muttered a small 'woo-hoo!' as he reached the end, diving into a large pile of snow that was originally from the driveway.
"See? It's that simple." Shawn said from the bottom from the hill, the snow lightly melting off of his warm face.
"That simple." Shawn said, bringing me out of my flashback. I slowly nodded my head even though I didn't listen to a word that he had just said.
"Shawn it's not that easy." I mumbled, briefly turning around to look at him. Even though he was substantially taller than I was, we were still in reach of each others lips, and the thought of that brought a chill to my body. Realizing how insanely close we were to each other, I turned my face back around so that he wouldn't see me blushing.
Gently, Shawn pushed my hips, sending me forward to my death. What I actually thought was my death, wasn't at all. I actually glided a bit before losing my balance and falling backwards. I thought that i was going to be faced with the cool ice hitting my backside but I wasn't.
"Easy." Shawn said, wrapping his arms around me from behind, laughing slightly. His chuckle sent vibrations though my body as we stood there for a moment.
"Shit." I cursed under my breath, causing Shawn to laugh even harder.
"I wouldn't let you fall." He said in my ear, sending chills all throughout my entire body. This boy is going to be the death of me.
