Hey! Twice in one day?! WHAT

This is a good chapter and I promise you're going to enjoy it!

Also, the picture above is the room Adeline explains later in the chapter.

ENJOY!

"Mae? What are you doing here?"

Honestly, I have no fucking idea why my best friend is standing before me, in my house, at 6:47 in the morning. There are just so many things wrong with that. First, she's never up before 10 am on the weekends. Second, she wouldn't be at my house this early either. Hell I always have to drag her ass out of her bed if I want to do anything before 10 am. Why is she here.

"H-Hey!" She said, at first seeming slightly unsure of herself.

"What are ya doing here this early?" I asked her. She began to grab at her fingers, a signal that she was nervous.

"Oh, I-uh, wanted to ask if you wanted to go on a run with me. " She spoke, looking back and forth between me and her own two feet. A run? Third, Mae absolute hates exercise.

"You. Of all people wanted to go for a run?"

"Well yeah. You know, new years resolution." She mumbled. Then it was quiet.

"Wait. What are you doing up so early?" She questioned me. Shit. Her being here threw me off to the fact that I shouldn't have been up this early normally. Sure I wake up earlier than her but never this early.

"Oh, I just- came from a run." I mumbled, mentally face palming myself for the fact that she had just used the same excuse.

"Really?" She said, more so of a statement than a question. She was on to me, just as I was on to her.

"Yeah. New Years resolution." I smirked, playing the exact same game as she was playing. Except, she actually believed me.

"Well. Since you're obviously following your new years resolution better than me, I'll just go run by myself." Mae stuttered before reaching for the doorknob.

"Alrighty. Hey, do you want to come over later and watch a couple movies?" I suggested, attempting to keep the conversation light.

"Is that even a question?" She spoke, laughing before stepping out of the front door.

Right as the door shut, I released a large breath that I didn't know I was holding. Holy shit. That was way too close.

"She's suspicious." I spoke, playing with the fringes of my light grey blanket that rests at the end of my bed.

"We just have to be more careful." Shawn's voice spoke through the phone. It was currently 11 am and I had just woken up from a nap, considering I was up at the butt crack of dawn.

"Ugh this is hard. " I mumbled, tossing my head back into my plush pillow. Over the line I heard Shawn exhale deeply.

"I know but, we should probably wait a bit before we go public."

"Yeah yeah I totally agree with you but- it's just hard." I complained.

"Trust me. I know. You know how hard it is to restrain myself from grabbing you and kissing you whenever I'm near you?" He spoke, clearing his throat right after as if he didn't mean to be that descriptive. My cheeks heated up and I felt the usual butterflies in my stomach, swarming around as if there was a party.

"Oh, really?"

"Don't be getting sassy with me Ads, I'd hate to have to punish you." Shawn said, making my throat go dry. Punish? Why did that turn me on?
