Game on Chapter 4

Vick’s POV

I couldn’t believe my own sister tried to use compulsion on me to get her way. I’d thought Grace was just freaking on her because she didn’t like her but this was way more serious. I could hear people talking and I felt awful about how it would affect Grace’s clean reputation. I looked back to see her heading off towards the bathroom face covered. I followed glaring at anyone making signals at her. “Hey man I thought you two would get to it on eventually”, Neill said.

“It’s not true and you all know it”, I said soberly.

“Come on everyone knows she’d never ruin her reputation for a fling with you”, Peter said brushing it off, “no one trusts Galina’s word we trust Ace”.

“Then what was the signals”, I asked eyes narrowed.

“It sounds stupid but we were trying to cheer her up”, Neill said sadly, “we hit on her but we don’t actually want to hurt her”.

“Well tonight looks like a movie night or possibly a lock her door night depends on her mood”, I said with a sigh.

“We could go for a movie night Easy A then Transformer then Lion King one and two and finally Tarzan”, William said cheerily.

“She’s coming out I better go see how bad the damage is”, I said then hurried over to Grace’s retreating figure.

“Hey Grace is it true you lost your V card to a vampire I thought you’d go for a Strigoi”, Galina said popping her head out of her room and tripping Grace. I heard her head hit the pavement and I was over there in a minute flat. Markov closely followed but I barely noticed him. She was out cold for sure and her heartbeat was slower than usual. I got up and pushed Galina into her room.

“What the hell was that?” I demanded.

“She was looking at him he’s mine”, she hissed.

“You could have just sent my best friend into a coma and if she’s hurt permanently you’re disowned”, I snapped.

“You can’t do that she’s just a stupid dhampir let her go and look toward your future”, she said taking my hand.

“Stay in your room I’m telling the headmistress exactly what you did”, I said then closed and locked her door. I couldn’t believe she’d stooped that low to get a guy. I watched them put her on a stretcher and followed them to the infirmary. The doctor checked her out and said it was pretty bad. She asked about her sleep and eating habits and for once I was stomped.

“She’s there eating at every meal and she slept last night after the party”, I said honestly.

“Well her system is telling me that she hasn’t slept in weeks and she obviously hasn’t been eating much either”, she said concerned, “has anyone watched her since she got back”.

“We didn’t want to crowd her”, I answered.

“Well she might go into a coma hopefully not but for now on be careful she lost her brother and her mother”, she said soberly. I also never brought up Grace’s Moroi mother who her brother, Jake drained to become a Strigoi. Jake was her half brother, her mom was with a Moroi guy before she got together with Edward Connors, Grace’s dhampir dad. He was a really nice guy and he and the family he guarded visited all the time. He protected the Ozeras and their kids went here too so everything worked out. Edward adored Grace she was the perfect daughter and he’d been almost as excited as me when we found out she was coming back. I sent the rest of the day there with her hoping she’d be alright. I hated when she wasn’t with me I felt weak and alone. It was just past one when I started dozing off.
