Game on Chapter 16

Vick’s POV

I woke up with a start from a bad dream to an empty room. I looked around and went and searched the room and bathroom but Grace wasn’t in her room. I was looking for clues as to where she was when I stepped on paper. I picked it up and read it quickly. Alena had sent Grace a note that only meant one thing. Grace had broken her promise because Alena threatened her and now she was down in the dungeons alone with a dangerous spirit user and her half crazed shadow kissed guardian. I got dressed and went down to see if I could catch her before she hurt herself. I was just entering when I saw that the guardians were fast asleep. I looked over and saw Grace and…Galina standing in front of Alena’s cell. Grace had Pavlo held up against the cell bars and Alena was speaking quickly.

"No wait", Alena said joining them, " we picked you two because he was the queen's grandson and you were the best guardian there we knew together fighting us you would be a threat so we separated you from the group".

"Why not just knock me out and kidnap him too", I said tightening Pavlo's tie. I had to do something either Galina or Alena most be controlling her and I couldn’t stand the thought of Grace getting hurt.

I shook the guardians until they finally woke up. “What?” one of them said.

“While you were sleeping people got past you”, I said seriously.

“Shit”, another said and we all headed over. I saw Grace take a step back and tighten her grip on Pavlo’s tie what was going on?

“Hey”, one of the guardians said and she looked over. I watched her let go of Pavlo’s tie and walk away. She looked confused and worried about something when she looked our way. She turned and started walking out hurriedly.

“What did she whisper?” Galina said quietly as I snuck up behind them. The guardians were concentrated on keeping the prisoners quiet but I was worried about Grace.

“Grace”, I said trying to get her attention. She sped up her pace gradually and by the time she was at the exit she was running full tilt. “What’s going on?” I demanded turning to Galina.

“Ace came to my room and asked for helping something about a loop hole and she got information out of freak girl and her boy toy”, she explained.

“It was Grace’s idea”, I said surprised.

“She wanted answers and she wasn’t afraid to get violent you should find her though Alena told her something in private and she was pretty freaked”, she said concerned.

“Alright but you have to go back to your room and go to sleep”, I said quickly then left to go find Grace she had some explaining to do.

Ace's POV

                We waited until midnight when everyone was sleeping to sneak down to the cells to talk to Alena and Pavlo. Galina stayed close by my side as we snuck past the sleeping guards. We arrived at their cell and they were waiting for us. "Well, well I never would have guessed who'd you'd bring where's your lover?" Alena smirked.

                "Who is that?" I asked.

                “Victor or are you still dating Michael too slut", she said smugly.

                "Either be quiet or tell me why you set up the compulsion on me and Vick you choose", I said crossing my arms.

                "You can't do anything to us", Pavlo said standing up by the bars. I grabbed his tie and pulled him up against the bars.

"Tell me why you two chose Vick and I to use compulsion on", I demanded.

"Maybe it was the pet names", he laughed.
