Chapter 20-How Could You! [Final Chapter]

2 Months Later

It had been 2 months since we told everyone about the baby that we were going to be having.. I was starting to get a small bump. I never imagined myself being pregnant...not at this age anyway. Today, we were going for the first scan, I couldn't wait to see the baby for the first time. I know for sure it's gonna hit me, and finally sink in. I was meeting Nathan at the hospital at 2:30pm. It was now 12:30pm, about time I got out of my pjs. I got out of my pjs and into the clothes that I laid out the night before. My outfit consisted of a light pink top saying 'All We Need Is Love' on the front of it. Ripped skinny jeans and on my feet I had beige lace up hi-tops. I just put my hair up and put some lipstick on. I made sure I had all the letters and information that the hospital asked me to bring a long with me. I went downstairs and made myself some food for my lunch, now that I was pregnant, I seemed to be hungry all the time. I was also suffering from the morning sickness...why do they call it morning sickness when it lasts all day ..aye?. I made myself some cheese on toast. Before I knew it, I was on the way to the hospital to meet Nath for the scan.

I parked my car in the hospital car park and made my way inside. I was a couple of minutes early as I liked to be on time for important things such as the scan. I got to the reception and I was greeted by an older woman.
'Can I help you?' she asked as she looked at me.
'Yeah I'm here for my first scan,' I replied.
'Name,' she responded bluntly.
'Ivy Collins,' I answered. 

'Take a seat,', I done as I was told. Everyone was staring at me...probably thinking that I am a young, slag who got pregnant. It made me feel uncomfortable. I looked at the clock on the wall, and it was 2:25pm. There were five more minutes before our appointment....he better get here on time. His time keeping skills are not the best. Time was passing and he still wasn't here.
'Ivy Collins,' I heard a woman call. I looked up and saw a nurse stood there. I picked my bag up and looked back to check if Nath had made it or not. I sighed as I walked into the room.
'Hi Ivy..I'm Jenny, i'll be your midwife during your pregnancy..any problems or questions, don't hesitate to ask,' she smiled as she introduced herself.
'Thank you,' I replied.
'Are you on your own?' she questioned.
'My boyfriend was supposed to be here...but he's late,' I sighed.
'Men aye. Well, I'll just start doing your bloods and that and hopefully he'll be here before we start the scan,' she explained to me.
'Thank you,' I smiled.

Jenny had just finished taking my bloods and I was just moving over to the bed so I could lay down for the scan. I glanced at the clock, why wasn't he here?
'Do you want me to start?' Jenny asked me.
'Go on then,' I replied. She instructed me to pull up my t-shirt, which I done. She began to put the gel on my stomach,
'This is gonna be cold,' she warned. I nodded my head. Just as she started, Nathan burst through the doors, panting and out of breath.
'I'm so-sorry babe,' he panted.
'Where have you been?' I asked.
'There was a big traffic jam, I tried to get here as quick as I could,' he replied.
'You've not missed anything,'. He came over to me and sat down and held my hand. Jenny started the scan and it wasn't long before the sound of a heartbeat filled the room.
'There's your baby,' Jenny smiled. I couldn't take my eyes off of the screen, it was unbelievable. Nath kissed my hand. We ended up taking three scan photos home with us.
'I'm going out with the lads tonight..hope you don't mind babe,' Nath informed me.
'Yeah that's fine,' I smiled. That night  Nathan went out with the lads, I stayed at home with Mum.

*The Next Day*

I woke up at about 10am, knowing I couldn't get back to sleep, so I decided to get out of bed. I had an idea of going to Naths to surprise him as I didn't see him last night. I got changed and made my way to his. I got out of my car and let myself into his flat. I took my shoes off so they couldn't hear me. I began to walk up the stairs but stopped in my tracks as I saw a blonde girl leaving Nath's room. She had a slim figure, she was tall and had messy hair...just like sex hair. She gave me a look as she walked passed me. I just stormed up to Naths room and just burst in there. Nath was just putting his boxers on. He looked at me,
'Who the fuck was that girl?' I snapped.
'Babe...what are you doing here?'
'Answer my question,' I shouted.
'I was drunk last night...and I ended up bringing her home with me,' he confessed as he looked at the ground.

'I'm sat at home, pregnant with your baby..whilst your out shagging other girls?' I cried.
'It's not like that baby,' he walked to me.
'Don't call me that...' I shouted. I was so hurt. 'You were the one accusing me of cheating when I told you about the baby...but you're the cheater,' I continued as more tears fell from my eyes.
'It didn't mean anything..please...forgive me,' he said as tears filled his eyes.
'No...I forgave you last time...but not this time....no, I've got to do what's best for my baby,'
'What do you mean by that?' he panicked.
'It's over Nathan,' I cried as I went to leave his room.
'Baby..don't leave..please,' Nathan chased after me.
'Just let me go,' I shouted.
'I love you Ivy,' he carried on.
'That's not good enough,' I cried.

I left, turning my back on the man I loved with all of my heart...leaving him behind. As well as the pieces of my broken heart. What do I do now?
