Chapter 4: The Betrayal

Sorry for that cliffhanger guys but get ready for this dark, depressing chapter! This chapter is where things start to go downhill for Jesse. Try not to cry while reading this chapter and instead please enjoy. Once again, spoiler alert to the people who have not yet played episode 5.

"Sorry Jesse, but we're hitting the road, not you." Petra said in a threatening tone.

"What?"

"You heard her Jesse, you're not coming with us" Olivia said with hatred. "Yeah, so go away!" Axel yelled, angrier than he ever has been. "What's wrong guys?" Jesse asked, feeling hurt by how his friends were talking to him."You don't get it, do you?" Petra said before laughing. "We don't like you, Jesse. I never did." Jesse felt like a skeleton shot through him as he heard Petra's cold words. Even Olivia was becoming angry with him, something he's never seen before. "You're pathetic, Jesse." Petra said right to Jesse's face. Jesse had sunk to his knees as Petra's words took his strength away from him. He started to cry as Petra continued to torment him. "Look at you, crying on your knees like the loser you are!" Petra said while laughing at his face. "Aww, does baby need a tissue?" Axel said sarcastically. "I think he does." Olivia replied.

Meanwhile outside....
"What is taking Jesse so long to explain the Eversource?" Ivor said with his arms crossed while pacing back and forth. "I guess I might as well go back home until he comes out." Ivor sighed as he walked back to his house, but what he saw made his eyes open wide in shock. "Why is my lava encased in glass? Jesse only had to cover the bottom, he didn't have to close off the whole thing!" Ivor yelled, throwing his arms in the air and flailing. "Oh well, at least he let me keep my home." Ivor calmed down and entered his home.

Jesse couldn't believe what was happening. The people he thought were his friends had just turned their backs on him. He felt empty as he heard everything his friends were saying to him. "Come on, Jesse, stand up! Unless you're too weak." Olivia said. "If he can't stand up then I'll get him to!" Petra snapped as she picked Jesse up and stood him straight. And in one swift move, Petra punched Jesse in the gut, which caused him to double over in pain before she kicked him back to the ground.

Jesse coughed as he held his stomach in pain. He heard Axel and Olivia's laughter and he looked up to see Petra putting a foot over him. "Not so strong, are you, Jesse?" Axel yelled. Jesse managed to pull himself up to his knees, his face wet, full of his tears. Petra lowered herself to Jesse's eye level and spoke in a sinister tone, "You're far too soft and easygoing, that's what I hate the most about you Jesse." Petra said before she punched him square in the face (literally) which sent him back onto the hard floor of the treasure room. "Losers like you don't belong in the new order." Petra sneered and she walked back toward Olivia and Axel.

"What do we do with him now?" Olivia asked Petra as she looked at Jesse who was still crying and holding his stomach. "I got the perfect idea." Petra responded and she walked towards Reuben's porkchop that was framed on the wall. "Petra, what are you doing?" Axel raised an eyebrow in confusion. Jesse opened his eyes wide and tried to push himself up but he didn't have any strength left. "No....." Jesse said quietly as he was too worn out to speak. Petra destroyed the picture frame and held the porkchop that was left by Reuben. "Goodbye, Reuben...." Petra declared as she walked towards a lava pit at the corner of the treasure room.

Jesse finally put all the strength he had and stood up. "Petra.....stop...." Jesse said as he tried to run toward her but was stopped by Axel. "You're not going anywhere!" Axel roared. Jesse looked past Axel and what he saw made his heart sink. He saw Petra throw Reuben's porkchop right into the lava pit. "That takes care of that!" Petra said, triumphantly. That was all Jesse could take as he heard the porkchop, the last thing left by his best friend, sizzle in the lava, gone forever. He fell to the floor and screamed, "REUBEN!!!!!!!!" before he passed out, likely from fatigue. "The plan worked!" Olivia said as she jumped up and down in excitement. "How pathetic." Petra laughed as she looked at Jesse's unconscious body. "Now all we have to do is tell everyone that Jesse's out of the team and he'll be erased from the books!" Axel stated. "Let's go." Petra said and the three left the treasure room.

Ivor was reading a book about potions when he heard Jesse's loud scream coming from the treasure room. "Somethings wrong!" Ivor yelled and he jumped out of the window of his house and rushed toward the treasure room. When he reached the entrance he saw Petra, Olivia and Axel exiting, with smiles on their faces. "Where's Jesse?" Ivor asked them. "Why don't you go find out yourself?" Petra responded, glaring at Ivor.  "Whatever." Ivor muttered and walked inside, but what he saw inside took him by surprise. There was no Jesse, but a hole blown from the side of the treasure room, likely by TNT.

"What in the world happened?"

That was probably the saddest thing I've ever written. Don't worry guys, not all chapters are gonna be like this, but some have to be to develop the story. Chapter 5 coming soon so stay tuned!!
