Chapter 5: Abandoned

Sorry for the longer wait for this chapter, school's coming to an end which means that I have my exams coming up.

I really stepped up the plate last chapter, definitely the most plot changing one. Anyways here is chapter 5 so please enjoy!

Run.
That was all Jesse could do after he recalled everything that happened after he woke up.

Treasure room, 10 minutes earlier...
Jesse awoke on the floor of the treasure room. He was first confused as to why he was here until everything came back to him. "They hate me. They really hate me." Jesse said as tears began to form in his eyes again. "You're pathetic, Jesse." Jesse was recalling everything Petra had said to him. "Losers like you don't belong in the new order." He walked up to the wall where Reuben's porkchop once was and began crying. Jesse took out a piece of TNT and threw it to the other wall and detonated it. He climbed over the now ruined wall and ran into the forest.

Present time
Rain had started to fall as Jesse ran through the forest, tree by tree. He wanted to get away from them. He wanted to get away from everything. His thoughts came back to Reuben, his best buddy. The time he first met him, the adventures they had together. "How could Petra do that?" Jesse said, sobbing as he remembered seeing Petra toss what was left of Reuben into the lava. "Reuben. Come back....." Jesse sobbed. He stopped running and put his back against a tree. He wiped his forehead as rain continued to fall around him, soaking his wet face even more. He thought back and realized: everyone he likes doesn't like him now, Petra will most likely tell everyone else about him, and then he'll be left with....

Nobody. He will have nobody. No friends, no fans, no Reuben. "I'm all alone." Jesse whispered to himself before he collapsed on the ground as the rain continued to fall. He didn't notice someone was watching him and could only get a quick glance at the person before he closed his eyes. He looked like a zombie, but different. Jesse couldn't tell as he was too tired and closed his eyes and fell asleep on the wet and dirty ground of the forest.

In town
Back in town, Petra couldn't be any happier. She had just gotten rid of the one person she had been dying to get rid of. "I can't believe we finally disposed of him!" Olivia said happily. "Yeah now it's time to party! Where's the music?" Axel roared. Petra laughed sinisterly. "I hope Jesse dies out there! He doesn't deserve to live." Petra said coldly. Her thoughts were interrupted when she saw Ivor running in her direction. "Where's Jesse?" Ivor asked her. "Why don't you go find out yourself?" Petra responded, glaring at him. "Whatever." Ivor muttered as he rushed inside the treasure room. "Once we tell everyone that Jesse is gone, everyone will hate him!" Petra stated with a smirk. "Fit for a loser." Axel finished.

Several hours later...
Jesse woke up, but realized he wasn't in the forest, but on a bed in a wooden house. He held his stomach, the same place Petra had punched him, and found out that he was partially healed, but how? He looked to the right to see a tamed wolf running up to him while barking. "Gahhhh! Help!" Jesse shouted as the wolf tackled him, but to Jesse's surprise, the wolf started licking his face. "Cut it out, Darryl. We don't want to startle our guest now do we?" A man said as he entered the room with a piece of bread in his hand. He handed the bread to Jesse, who was first reluctant, but eventually took it and ate it. "Thank you." Jesse said as he ate the bread.

He finally managed to get a good look at the man. He had tan skin, teal coloured shirt and blue pants, just like a zombie. "Who are you?" Jesse questioned. "The name's Steve. Nice to meet you. I suppose you already met Darryl, my pet wolf." the man named Steve introduced himself. "He's my best friend, he and I have been through a lot together and we always come out okay. Isn't that right, Darryl?" Steve called Darryl and he immediately jumped off of Jesse and ran toward his master and nuzzled against his leg. Jesse saw how happy Steve and Darryl were together, it reminded him of the times he and Reuben had and he sadly looked down at the floor. Steve noticed this and looked at him. "What's your name?" He asked. "My name's Jesse" Jesse replied.

Steve's eyes widened. "Hold on, you're THE Jesse? The leader of the new order of the stone? The one who defeated the wither storm?" Steve rambled on, asking question after question. Before Jesse could answer, Darryl started barking which caught both of their attention. "Darryl, what is it boy?" Steve asked as walked towards him. He opened the front door and saw something on the ground in front of him. "Ah, the newspaper! Good boy!" Steve exclaimed and threw a cooked porkchop at Darryl and he took the food in his mouth and happily ate it.

Okay, I know that newspapers aren't in MCSM but Steve has to have some way of finding out things.

"What could this be about?" Steve asked nobody as he set it down to read. "What in the-" Steve was so shocked at what he just read that it made him drop the paper. "What is it, Steve?" Jesse asked. Steve picked it up and read it out loud: "Jesse Kicked Out Of The New Order?" Steve read. "Petra of the new order announced that Jesse was out of the new order for killing his own pig, Reuben. That's not true is it?" Steve asked Jesse, while getting a bit angry. "No, it can't be. Let me explain."

Jesse explained everything to Steve, how Petra, Olivia and Axel had betrayed them, how they bullied him and Petra threw Reuben's porkchop in lava. While explaining it, Jesse began to tear up. "So that's why you were running in the forest" Steve put two and two together. "Is that why you had that look when Darryl and I were having fun together?" "Yeah." Jesse answered. "It reminded me of all the things Reuben and I did together."

"Well, why don't we go for a walk in the morning and clear your mind?" Steve requested. "How do I know you won't betray me like my other friends?" "I've never had a human friend before, so I don't know" Steve replied. "What I do know is that Darryl and I always stick with each other, no matter what." Jesse had a feeling he could trust this guy. "Thank you for saving me, Steve." Jesse thanked him. "It's nothing really. Like I said, let's take a walk in the morning" Steve said. "For now, rest." Steve and Darryl left the room and closed the door behind them. Jesse sat back down on the bed, closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep.

What do you guys think of the introduction of Steve and his pet dog Darryl? I will try to expand on their character the next chapter. Episode six comes out tomorrow so I might expand this fanfic into that episode, but we'll just have to see what it's about.
