Both sides stared each other down, waiting for the first one to make a move. Jesse, Steve, and Isa were standing next to each other on one side, while Petra, Olivia, and Axel were on the other side. Lukas, Ivor, and Aiden watched from the tree, and Milo, Reginald, and the guards stood on the hill. The citizens were far away so they wouldn't get hurt. "Come on, Jesse, you can do this." Lukas said while holding his arm and leaning against the tree.
"I wish I had popcorn." Ivor said randomly, still sitting under the shade of the tree. "Seriously, Ivor? Our friends are about to fight the battle of their life, and you're thinking about popcorn?" Lukas said, annoyed. "It's about to get interesting, isn't it?" Ivor replied. "Interesting?!" Lukas shot back. "Lukas, relax. Jesse can take them. He took on a-" "Yes, we know that already." Ivor retaliated, not letting Aiden finish. "Ivor doesn't like it when you mention-" "POPCORN!" Ivor shouted, cutting off Lukas. "-the Witherstorm." Lukas finished. On top of the hill, it was much quieter. "I should be helping." Milo stated. "You obviously underestimate the founder's ability to hold her own. I don't know how good those other two are, but the founder can handle anything." Reginald told him. "I guess you're right. But if things go wrong, I'll step in." Milo said.
They continued to watch both sides, which still have yet to make a move. "So, do we have a plan?" Steve asked Jesse. "Just, don't die." Jesse retorted. "Gee, thanks. I'll give it my best shot." Steve got his sword ready, and Darryl growled, showing he was ready to fight. "Darryl, you will not interfere. Go sit with the others." Steve ordered. Darryl barked at him. "Of course I worry about you. I already lost her, I don't need to lose you too. Now do as I told you." Steve pointed to the tree. Darryl nodded and walked with his head down toward Lukas and the others. "What do you mean by her?" Jesse asked. "It's nothing. Let's just focus." Steve responded. "If you two are done talking, it looks like they're ready to attack." Isa interrupted.
Jesse turned to face the three who have been haunting him for the past 2 days. Jesse noticed Axel pull something out of his pocket but turned to Olivia who shot an arrow at Isa. The arrow was deflected off her sword easily. "Is that all you've got?" Isa taunted. From the corner of her eye, she saw Axel throw something at Steve, who was currently paying attention to the arrow that was just shot. "Creeper! Watch out, Steve!" Jesse warned. "What?" Steve was confused until he heard a hissing noise next to him. He tried to dive away, but the creeper exploded and sent him flying back.
"STEVE!!!" Jesse cried. "One down. Nice job, Axel." Petra complimented. "Thanks." Axel rubbed the back of his head. Lukas and Ivor rushed to Steve's aid when they noticed he wasn't moving. Lukas looked at Steve and then at Jesse and back at Steve. "Oh no, he's looking really bad. He might not make it!" Lukas said, panicking. Darryl looked at Steve's heavily injured body, and started whining. "Out of the way!" Ivor shoved Lukas to the side and took out a potion of healing. He waited for Steve to breathe in before he forced the liquid down his throat. "Will it work?" Lukas questioned, still somewhat panicked. "Hopefully. It should start to take effect soon, but for now, let's carry him to the tree." Ivor grabbed one arm, and Lukas grabbed the other, and they carried him back to the tree and lay him.
Jesse looked back at Steve, who was laying down on the grass, injured from the explosion. "Damn it!" Jesse yelled. "What's wrong, Jesse?" Olivia asked him in an uncaring voice. "Did we hit a nerve?" Axel taunted. "Those two are really annoying." Isa muttered. "Petra, I need to ask you something." Jesse said. "Ask away." Petra said in her usual voice. "Why?" Jesse asked her. Petra smiled. "Why what?" "You know what I meant." Jesse growled at her. "You mean what I did to you?" Petra assured and Jesse nodded. "We were at the top of the world as the new order, and you were lowering yourself to the citizens, like they actually mattered. And every day, I had to hear you cry about Reuben, and it was really getting on my nerves." Petra told Jesse. "Whenever I see your face, it makes me angry." Petra said while gripping her sword and getting into a fighting stance. Everyone else did the same.
