Vex
Her scream, my mate's scream, is so deafening. My eardrums ring as the unbearable sound waves smash around in my ears. I would cover them up if my arms weren't occupied; making sure the little human in my arms wouldn't run away.
Not that I'm complaining.
Though the fact that she's human is shocking- no, the fact that my mate is alive has me in a state of disbelief and overwhelming happiness. For almost three years, I thought my mate was dead. That I would never be given the privilege to hold her, kiss her, make love to her; privileges that are taken for granted by the majority of my kind.
Yet here I am, in the middle of the boreal forest, by the N.A. dome with the one being in the entire universe who is meant to be mine. To spend the rest of our lives together. To make countless memories and unforgettable moments.
And she is currently trying to scream her vocal cords off.
I wince in pain from the sound. "Could you please just shut up!" I yell, hoping I can get her attention through her screams.
Maybe it was my ticked off tone or the loudness or even the bond that is slowly beginning to form between us. Whatever the reason was, my mate automatically stopped screaming. She stays calmly still; too still. Though I can hear her steady breathing, I can also hear her raging heart beat. Is she nervous? Scared? Excited?
By her previous action of kicking snow in my eyes in order to distract me so she could run away, I would have to say that her increasing heart rate is not becasue of excitement. My best guess that even an idiot could make is that she is scared shitless.
So how can I, a lycan, prove to her, a human, that she is safe?
I focus on the warmth transferring in a continuous cycle between us; on the sparks, a dead giveaway that the individual in your arms is your mate. Of course I alredy knew before my arms wrapped around her small torso. My wolf smelled her when I was nearing the dome. I wasn't entirely sure what was happening at the time except for the fact that I was consumed by never ending rage. Rage for another lycan that was by the dome. I wasn't sure why I was pissed of at that lower rank lycan until it came to view.
When I saw the pathetic excuse for my kind toying with a human, I saw red.
Deminishing it was easy but when I finally remembered about the human and looked over to check up on it, I froze.
I was lost in unforgettable warm brown eyes. It took one split second for me to realize who this small weak human was. Afterwards, being the guy that I am, I couldn't help but stare at what was mine.
Well, what is soon to be mine.
A sudden tug brings me back from cloud nine. I look down to see my petite mate struggling to get out of my arms. The idea that she doesn't want to be in my arms doesn't sit too well with me but I don't argue and instead, let her go. She stumbles out of my arms and takes a good three big steps away from me.
I frown slightly at the distance but stay where I am.
I hear her catching her breath for reasons unknown to me until she finally decides to face me. Once again, I am greeted with her beautiful face. Her eyes. Her big kissable soft pink lips. Her cute pink cheeks. Her long brown hair. Her curves.
I can't wait to touch her again.
Her eyes widen as she takes in the site of me. Sure, I'm pretty well known for my looks and I could tell she noticed it too by the redness of her cheeks but as well, I can see her eyebrows scrunching in confusion.
"What..." she mumbles. Her soft voice has my wolf humming in awe. The gentle tone is so alluring, so amazing, I have the urge to purr but since she is human, she would find my purring weird. I have to slowly let her into my world.
