Vex

My menacing grin widens when I hear my prey wince as I pin the pathetic lycan rogue against a tree so that there is no means of escape. My grip tightens around the lycan's throat, embellishing in the power when I hear gasps for air.

"Vex, can we please do this the peaceful way. Anything but this embarrassment." Keith pleas with me, hoping to get me to change my mind.

To answer his question, I tighten my grip even more. Keith lets out a small sigh in defeat and then approaches us so that he can face our current prisoner. "Would you mind nodding your head if you changed your mind and now wish to cooperate with us?" He asks kindly.

Our prey's eyes immediately dart towards Keith's direction. With wide eyes, we can see the anger swirling within the dark brown eyes but as well as fear. It doesn't take long before we get an attempt at a nod.

"Vex," my brother warns, knowing me well that I don't wish to let my prey go. With a grunt of annoyance, I loosen my grip and watch the weak figure collapse on the ground. Both Keith and I take a few steps back to give the prey some space so that they lycan can catch a few breaths before having to answer to us.

"So," I finally speak out when I know the prey is ready, "are you going to answer my questions or do you want to go back and start round two though I warn you," I flash a smile that displays my sharp teeth, "I might not go so easy on you this time around."

With even more fear then before, the lycan slowly nods.

"I'm sorry, I can't hear you." I tilt my head and grin at the, now, annoyed lycan.

"I'll cooperate," is the answer I get.

Liking the answer, I nod my head in approval. The next moment, I smash my fist into the tree right beside my prey's head earning a flinch in return. "Tell me where that dumbass mate of yours is hiding."

Her eyes are consumed by anger and she pushes me down to the ground in an instant, "how dare you insult my Ryder when it is you who's the dumbass." She spats in disgust.

My vision is consumed with the colour red and it doesn't die down. Not even when I pin her on the ground. "I want you to say that one more time." I dare her knowing she won't. Not when she knows my fist is itching to come into contact with her face.

She only glares at me while I let go off her and smile once again. She backs away until her back hits a tree that hasn't yet been damaged by me. "All you men are the same. The moment your mate is taken away from you, ya'll go ballistic, eliminating anyone who stands in your way."

"Oh but Cassandra, are you saying that if Ryder was taken away from you, you wouldn't react in anger what so ever?" I ask in which she responds with a gut wrenching expression.

"That won't ever happen. I won't allow it." She yells.

Before I can reply along the lines of that I will personally see to it that her mate suffers, Keith interrupts me. "I know you won't Cassandra. That is why Ryder is a very lucky man to have you as his mate. Vex just wanted you to understand his anger to which I'm sure you do."

Cassandra rolls her eyes. "I understand your bother's urgency to find his mate. It's obvious that what the sorceress is to you even if she, strangely, isn't aware of it. What I don't like is his tactics. If you idiots would have listened to me in the first place then maybe you would already be with her."

I take a step forward but Keith stops me. "We apologize for our actions. It wasn't the right thing to do."

Truthfully, I don't mind the way I acted when Cassandra first showed herself to us a few minutes ago. Keith and I were running in our lycan forms, tracing Raylea's and Ryder's scent when she came and stopped us in our tracks.
