Vex

"What the hell happened here?" I ask but no one answers back. Iris crosses her arms and glares at Raylea while my mate avoids my gaze. Nat walks up to the girls and with a wave of her hand, she summons a gust of wind and dries the two girls. Iris nods her head at Nat in gratitude while Raylea subconsciously shivers from the magic.

Keith strides over beside Iris and examines her for any injuries. Iris, clearly annoyed, swats his arms away from here. "For crying out loud, it was just water! Nothing bad happened here."

"What exactly did happen?" He asks, leaving no room for arguing. I smirk at my brother. If they didn't answer me when I asked, Iris and Raylea will definitely ignore him.

"What do you think happened? We got into a fight, one thing led to another, and the next thing we know, we're drenched in cold water." Iris immediately replies, not breaking a sweat.

I don't hide the shock and anger on my face. Anger for being ignored unlike my brother and shock because Iris and Raylea managed to get into a fight but for what? I look back to Raylea who is now sitting beside Nat on one of the lobby's couches. Her knees are brought up to her chest while her arms wrap around them. She rest her head on her knees with an unreadable expression on her face.

Automatically, I walk over to the two sorceresses and sit across from them. "Why do you look like a lycan ate your cat?" I ask her lightly.

Raylea ignores me and instead, buries her head so that I can't admire her breathtaking gentle looks. I frown slightly but don't say anything else. As much as I'd love to say her name out loud and  see the surprise on her face, it's not the perfect time yet.

"Leave the poor sorceress alone, brother." Keith intervenes and then turns his attention to my mate. "Sorry about Vex, he can be a drag at times." I roll my eyes. It's not like my mate doesn't already know that.  "I also apologize for my mate's behaviour towards you." This causes Raylea to tense up and lift her head off of her knees.

Raylea scrunches her eyebrows up at Keith. "But she wasn't the one who threw the water first." She then turns behind the couch to face Iris, "sorry about that. It was uncalled for."

Iris shakes her head. "Are you kidding me? That was awesome." Iris points at Raylea and looks around at the rest of us, "I like this bitch."

Everyone chuckles except Raylea who blushes from embarrassment. She turns out away from Iris to jump in surprise when Iris stands in front of her with her arms on her hips. "Are you going to introduce yourself or just going to sit there like a mute."

"Iris," Keith warns his mate but it's no use, Iris is the equivalence of wild fire; you can't control her.

"What? I was just trying to make a friend." Iris defends herself, earning a small smile on Raylea's lips but her warm brown eyes hold a hint of fear. Being a human, surrounded by supernatural beings is still far from normal for her. I hate to admit to myself but it will take some time before she can fully relax and enjoy herself around us.

Nat decides to take the lead, "this is my cousin from down south, she'll be staying with me for a little while."

"Well then," Iris stretches out her arm towards Raylea to shake, "it's a pleasure to meet you, Nat's cousin from down south."

My sweetheart hesitantly reaches out and cautiously shakes hands with Iris. "Nice to meet you too," she simply answers, not taking Iris's hint to tell everyone her name. I guess she really has her mind set for me not to figure out her name. Oh, the urge to see you bewildered expression right now if she knew the truth has me reconsidering my previous thoughts. Maybe I should reveal to her that I know her name.
