Raylea
A sharp force grips my shoulder, spinning me abruptly around to face the angry Alpha of the Rogue who, for the first time since I have met him a few hours ago, displays a glimpse of hope in his eyes. "You recognize my brother?"
The boy in the photo looks to be around the age of twelve. The majority of his features are different. The hair colour is not what I was used to seeing, neither is the body size. The boy in the photo has black hair that compliments his skinny frame while the man I know now has brown hair and a size twice the boy in this picture. The age is also wrong but his eyes and facial structure gives his identity away.
Those blue with grey specs eyes that have always stared at me with disgust.
But I can't tell Ryder that his long lost brother has practically been my enemy for my entire life.
I can only nod my head at the desperate Alpha.
There is also something that doesn't sit too well with me. Ryder says his brother vanished five years ago. If that's the case then how come I have known his younger brother way longer than that? I have memories of us fighting in the playground when we were five.
But the boy in the photo says otherwise causing me not to question my suspicions.
Vex comes stands directly beside Ryder, sending him death glares when all I want him to do is to shift those breathtaking light blue eyes at me. Still, I can't deny the joy that forms at the pit of my stomach when I remind myself continuously that Vex came back for me.
He found me along with his younger brother whom I just notice is not to far away from us. Keith does not take his watchful eye off his brother.
"I suggest you take your arm off her, Ryder." Vex warns with his voice low and quiet.
"I asked her a question." Is the only response Ryder gives back. He doesn't even look worried that the Prince of Lycans is standing right beside him with a look that could kill.
I reach forward and gently grab hold of Vex's hand. I see his body flinch but he doesn't let his gaze wander from the dangerous threat. Instead, Vex lightly squeezes my hand, refusing to let go.
A small smile forms on my lips before I bring my attention back to the impatient Alpha. "Yes, I know your brother. In fact, I saw him everyday back at home."
Ryder's eyes widen by a tiny fraction. "You know where Hunter is." He says breathlessly. The excitement can't no longer be hidden. Ryder is overjoyed by the fact that he has the potential to reunite with his brother.
I would be too if I was in his position and had any siblings at all.
"He goes by the name Harrolson." I inform Ryder, earning another smile from him.
"That was his middle name." Ryder speaks softly before getting a distant look in his eyes. "He always hated that name."
Well, that explains why Harrolson was always in a horrible mood but I can't tell Ryder this. Right now, Ryder looks like he just won the lottery. I can't ruin his mood by confessing to him that the brother he remembers is different from who his brother is now.
Harrolson is nothing but a bully who I despise.
I can't tell Ryder that.
"I see," I mumble softly, not knowing what else to say at this point.
Ryder's grip on my shoulders tightens, "how do you know Hunter?"
For a second there, I forgot that Hunter is Harralson's actual first name making me wonder who the heck Ryder was asking about. When it clicked in my head, I became tongue tied.
