Raylea

"Ray, will you please stop eye raping the train!"

I instantly blush as people turn their heads to give Nat and, especially, me weird looks. I force myself to look away from the marvelous machine to the angry sorceress in her white skinny jeans and crazy patterned parka. "Are you happy now?" I ask in my best bored tone. Truth be told, my voice sounds the opposite of bored.

I'm ecstatic because today is the day Nat takes me to see Vex.

To the capital of North America.

I eagerly pull Nat towards the train's entrance, wanting to get good window seats. It's not everyday a human can take a ride across a nation ruled by lycans. Today, I consider myself as the luckiest human on earth because I get to see the world that was once ours.

I can't wait.

"Jeez, if I knew you'd react this way, I would have never offered to take you to Vex in the first place." Nat mumbles as she hands our tickets to the conductor.

He eyes us while he scans the tickets. "Two young sorceresses traveling to the capital of Lycans without protection?" I stare at the man strangely since, to me, his question seems odd.

Nat is quick to answer. "Watch to whom you are speaking to pal." The conductor raises his eyebrow but checks the ticket once again. This time, his eyebrows shoot up in shock and immediately, his cocky attitude vanishes and is replaced with complete respect.

"My apologize, Nathena. Enjoy your stay." With that, he bows his head. Nat pays no attention to him and we walk past him to the coach. We find our seats, which are by the window, and get ourselves comfortable.

I rest my feet on the seat in front of me. "This is so awesome, Nat! I wonder how everything will look like!"

"Will you quiet down, Ray." Nat whispers harshly, using her new nickname for me. After I revealed my name to her boyfriend, Triple-O, Nat was pleased to know that she got to learn my name before Vex. She even went overboard by wanting to be the first supernatural being to give me a nickname. I didn't argue with her because I didn't want her to kick me out of her home.

I take a glance over the coach to see it practically empty. "Will you relax Nat, there's no one here."

"You're forgetting the fact that lycans have excellent hearing." She tells me.

Oh, I really did forget about that. "Sorry, but why isn't there anyone sitting in this coach with us?"

Nat smiles and slumps down in her seat, placing her feet on the very top of the seat in front of her. "Because no lycan wants to be in close proximity to their Prince's best friend. It's the joy of knowing the feared brother of the two."

"Vex has a brother?" This is news to me. I always suspected he was an only child since he's a Prince. Guess my way of thinking is wrong.

"Younger," Nat tells me. "His name is Keith and trust me, they don't look like siblings."

I nod my head, wondering how it's like to have a sibling. Is it really annoying as people tell me? I would love to have a brother or a sister. Someone I could always count on. I would never be bored or feel lonely at home. One things for sure, I'm jealous of Vex. Not because he probably lives the good life due to his high status but because he never has to feel lonely. Not only does he have a brother but amazing friends.

"Do you have any siblings Nat?" I ask out of curiosity. She shakes her head making me feel slightly happy. At least she understands the feeling of wanting a sibling.
