Vex

If there's one thing every lycan in the entire world mutually enjoys, it's a chase and a darn good one for that matter. The feeling of having your legs (or paws) push themselves off of the ground, practically flying for those few seconds before pushing yourself once again to repeat the experience. The adrenaline pumping in your veins as you catch sight of your prey you have long caught their scent of. Most importantly, the satisfaction of knowing your about to catch them.

My heart speeds up as my wolf and I anticipate the softness and warmth I will feel once my arms wrap around my mate's waste. The sparks that we can't wait to embrace.

All I just need is to catch me mate.

All I need is four more seconds.

Four

I see Nat and my mate around the corner, attempting to sprint away from us.

Three

I smirk and push harder, gaining up on my prey. One very particular one who refuses to look back at me.

Two

Beside, Kenny lets out a laugh, knowing we're about to win. I chuckles as with him and with on last step, jump in the air straight at my mate.

One

I reach out my arms and grab my adorable little mate only to go straight through her and fall on my face. By the echo thump sound next to me, I'm pretty sure Kenny did the exact same thing with Nat. We stare at each other for a few seconds, shocked and taken by surprise. Was I really so excited to see my mate that I forgot to see if she was the real thing by  catching her scent? By the confused expression on Kenny, I can tell he's thinking the exact same thing.

If we were tricked then where are they? I take in a big whip of air through my nostrils and focus the one scent that drives me mad. A sweet lavender scent with a hint of a heavy warmness to hit that itches my nose slightly. The ultimate hint that she is a human.

I catch her faint scent on the other side of the house where it accumulates on one particular room. I open my eyes and stare back at Kenny.

"I know where they are," we unisonly say. Instantaneously, Kenny and I get up and follow their scent. This time though we walk.

We stay in mutual silence as we make our way through Nat's home. Her new style is decently interesting though I'm not entirely sure what exactly she was going for when she decorated the place. Maybe she going for a jungle theme. Her glass floor that displayed a peacefully dreamed gives you the impression of floating. Her large glass window allows light to enhance her home as the few light coloured walls warm up the atmosphere.

"Nat sure is one gifted interior designer," I state out. This sort of domain never seemed to interest me until Nat first introduced me to her home. Beforehand, I was used to growing up in a traditional elegant grand castle. Living in that sort of setting constantly eventually made me despise traditional homes. The odd thing was that, as a kid, I believed everyone's home, no matter how small, resembled the similar designs to my home.

Then Nat brought me over to her place when I was nine and I never thought the same way again. I can still remember how shocked I was to step inside to see a glass ceiling and vibrant colours everywhere. Back then, when she lived with her parents, Nat's mom was in charge of decorating. She even owned her own interior design company and still does to this day.

What I remember about Nat's mom was that she loved colour and animals. Her walls would have colours that ranged across the spectrum with animal prints on them. She loved soft carpets that were often either a light grey or peach colour. She mostly chose that material for the benefit of keeping Nat safe from her clumsy self.
